It's very rare thing when you search for something as broad as learning how to fix your own sewing machine on KZbin and you find the exact thing you were looking for. Not only, but this is not a single video, it's a course: I couldn't have asked for better. I will pay you for this either via PayPal or Patreon. Thank you.

Thank you, I am about to get into the industry this fall. I am currently involved in Vacuum Cleaners. I don't mind working with the machines but I blame my job on my heart infection I had. I have been really contemplating quitting since then. I just don't want to fix vacuums any more. This kind of work is what I am into. Nothing dirty at all. pretty cool little machines!!

Just found your channel and subscribed so I can learn about trouble shooting different sewing machines. I am part of a Dress-a-Girl sewing group that sews clothes for missions in care of children in 3rd world countries. Our sewing circle has a variety of sewing machines that were donated by people who no longer sew or who got a new machine. The variety of machines are used by a variety of sewists with a variety of sewing experience levels. This situation presents troubleshooting issues on many different brands/models of machines. I'm looking forward to learning how to solve some of the issues that come up so we can all keep on sewing!

WOW, I am so impressed... especially @3:19, where I turned the speed of this video down to .25, in order to take in exactly what was happening there! You are absolutely correct... the sewing machine is a phenomenal work of engineering genius; my mind is swimming at the creativity & doggedly patient persistence of the human mind that saw a problem, got an idea, & brought this all together, making it function so beautifully. OMG...the incredible timing in conjunction with the perfect proximity of each part in that timing... MIND BLOWN!!! How could anyone ever doubt that God's hand HAD TO have created a mind that was capable of executing this invention of deceptively simple perfection?!😇 I am also impressed & very grateful for your wonderful video; your attentive narration, including all the small details while not trying to overly complicate it, along with your excellently illustrative shots of the machinations being described, make for a wonderful learning experience. Thank you! [5.12.2023]

Congratulations on your excellent teaching technique: clear demos; summing up what's been covered, etc. Unfortunately I couldn't diagnose my problem. The whole machine seizes up after an inch of sewing, requiring a screwdriver to correct - then it would happen again! I've spent hours trying to figure it out. I lugged the machine on the train to a repair shop miles away. To my absolute good fortune, the woman there knew that using old cotton thread could cause such problems with modern machines. She set up my machine, changed the thread to her modern-branded one (polyester & cotton) and it sewed perfectly!!! She saved me $160 and I was able to lug the working machine back home. I will now throw away my decades-old threads that worked fine with my 1967 sewing machine. I wish this information had been printed in Janome's user manual.

Great introduction, on how the machines work. I saw something crazy the other day. I'm fascinated by shows, like 'how it's made', and other youtube channels that show, how things are made. so I was watching one, on how rugs were made. This guy pulls out a device, that I can only describe as a sewing gun, and he pulls the trigger, and it punctures the fibers into a pattern. I'm not sure if that is considered sewing....or more like riveting.... tufting?
@katehenry2718
@katehenry2718 11 ай бұрын
Sounds like tufting )) There's LOTS of ways to make a rug. Many with fiber by itself, many with a backing and pattern. Give it a try. Sounds like you'll have a blast. )))

The rod that holds the needle well my rod can move from side to side. for example. if i turn the fabric with needle down the rod can move to the left or right which alters the seem width and if using certain feet, the needle (now out of centre will hit the foot. my machine is an Elna 660. Thank you i really hope you can help me.
