I hope Western countries can also, like China, build more infrastructure, hospitals, and schools in Africa! Instead of building more military bases or planning color revolutions, let alone giving speeches one after another! I remember an African leader once said that when African leaders attend meetings in Western countries, they are all crammed into buses like elementary school students, while Western leaders are in separate luxury cars! Not to mention helping others, without even the most basic respect, but discussing other country's problems every day!

The west is concerned about Chinese in Africa, but they not talking about China in the west, in Australia where I'm living, every thing is Chinese, when you come to Sydney CBD , Chinese are owned every thing, busines, propertys , the majority of the people walking in the city CBD are Chinese, there's china town in Sydney, same if you go to USA. So what is the problem.

This program should be called: How Eastern Africa sees China's role in their region. The views expressed are very marginal, not in anyway representative of China's interest in Africa, a continent of 54 countries. If you take a deep look at Chinas role and investment in Nigeria, South Sudan and Congo etc, you might get a more balanced understanding. Again this is typical of a western journalist based in Nairobi or Addis who does a documentary of China's role in Kenya but calls it Africa. The subject matter is more complex, but a good try.

The Great Leap Forward was not the cause of the last famine in China. Correlation does not imply causation. This is one of the pervasive British propaganda. There were 12 famines with millions of deaths in China during a century of colonialism. It was in ruins from colonialism and wars. It was embargoed by the colonial powers after liberation. Blockade and natural disaster caused shortages. Famine was also recurrent feature of life in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Africa during British rule. Afghanistan would have famine if not for aid from China after the USA left and stole its reserve.

Thank you for investigating what China is doing in Africa. Their people must understand that we will not tolerate our people being treated as sub human, as seen on videos coming out of Malawi where children are being taught to call themselves with racist tearms. The Chinese government need to educate their people going to Africa as to how they should behave.
