I appreciate that info. I'm about to change my career by going to truck driving school. I'm looking at two companies that's close to me. Sygma and pfg. I'm taking everything in about food truck drivers. You've been helping me a lot. Thanks fam.

So do you truly think component pay is better than hourly pay, given all the work you have to do? Or, do you think some sort hybrid mix of hourly and component would work best? I'm curious!
@RLC876TV
@RLC876TV 2 жыл бұрын
I think a fair mix would be best but that would be so hard to figure out. Just think if they paid us like $40 an hour how many guys would be milking the clock. And there would be less production.

@@RLC876TV Ok thanks for the response. I’m currently trying to build out a model to compare the two types of pay for my company. I’ve heard a mix of responses of that they like. I feel like you could somehow have a base pay while also incentivizing performance per say to try and curb the “milking of the clock”

@kwesley2512
@kwesley2512 2 жыл бұрын
@@patthetrucker5670 I’ve worked there also about 7 years ago. If you don’t have any foodservice experience you’d better hope you get a excellent trainer with merchants. Don’t expect any office support in talking you through situations just get to know other drivers there. Don’t expect a ton of money at merchants. They didn’t operate off a seniority board when I was there but off favoritism, they still deal with a lot of mom and pop cash accounts which is dangerous. The only pro for me would be them finally getting new equipment. Not to discourage you but merchants is the lower grade food service in the Jackson area but they do help you get your feet wet. I’d lean more towards us foods or Ben Keith and Sysco after those. Literally my highest check at merchants was 700 dollars. Hated it there but us foods trained me better, paid me better and was way more organized.
