Finally!!!!! I have been waiting for years for dermatologists to acknowledge diet and acne are linked. In my personal experience, I think some individuals might be sensitive to even small amounts of natural sugars. I never eat junk food or drink alcohol, etc. However, for me, even fruits cause inflammation and acne. What has worked for me is a dairy free keto diet.

Thank you Alejandra for watching and commenting. I really appreciate it. Yes, I had one patient who cleared up her acne when she gave up natural orange juice! She was really good at testing her hypothesis and it was definitely correlated to her development of random cystic lesions of adult female acne. Every body had a different physiologic response to diet as a trigger to inflammation.

I can’t believe we’ve been duped all these years about fats......when it’s really been sugar that is hard on our bodies! Thanks for the reminder!

Is Eczema on your list on that subject? I think possibly the answer is yes. High blood pressure and Eczema are ailments slowly increasing together during my last 20 years . I am 67 now and I change gradualy completely my diet since 3 months for a more sensible one. No instant miracle but a slowly reduction of both conditions.Looking for the best in the months to come.

Well done Andre. Yes, in my opinion eczema and hypertension are most definitely linked to a pro-inflammatory diet, meaning one that is high glycemic among other pro-inflammatory choices. I am a huge fan of using diet to fight diseases that we are otherwise born to suffer. I have written a free ebook because I think diet is such a missed issue by my profession. Please have a look if you would like to know more about what diet choices build health and fight disease in my observation www.drbaileyskincare.com/info/ebook/view/healthy-eating-guide Thanks for watching, and well done figuring out your own path to better health. I would love to know how it goes.

Do natural sugars like those in fruit cause inflamation? Would fruit be a low glycemic food group?

Some fruit is lower glycemic than other fruit. In general, whole fruit is better than refined foods and is loaded with other nutritional benefits. When one balances them in a diet filled with veggies, legumes and complex/course grains the health benefits are huge. Again, the whole fruit will be lower glycemic than juice derived from the fruit. Sugar refined from fruit is not in the same category - it is sugar. I hope that helps. There are lists available for glycemic index ratings of specific foods and that can help sort it all out if you have a specific fruit selection you love and want to know more about them.
