Uh....it doesn't, and it really doesn't help anyone that doesnt make money off it anymore b/c it accomplished its goal back in the late 60s (And I don't think that was just feminists...the lawmakers themselves (men), deserve credit there too. Furthermore I also don't think all women/girls back then who just wanted more options than homemaker were feminists either. ) I have no idea why it's still around, to tell the truth.
@Ziko5776 жыл бұрын
Yeah it's pretty much a dying movement now as #MeToo is largely in the media circuit these days and is far more important than feminism. It's delivering results like a lot of men are being held accountable for their bad behavior in the workplace. Really, the only purpose that "modern" feminism exists is just to pretty much destroy what progress was made decades ago and to pretty much bring out the worst in people. I stopped caring a long time ago when idiots like Anita Sarkeesian got involved. She's just wasting her life and time on something that doesn't need to be fixed and really she should fix herself with all that money she has. She's a shallow, insecure woman who just lashes out at others and blames everything and everyone around her instead of herself for her shortcomings. She and several other insecure women tried to convince the UN that internet harassment and video games were the cause of society woes and they were so embarrassed by the whole affair that they washed their hands of the whole lot of them.

Feminists who say that feminism is about equality are wrong, and anti-feminists who say that it's about female supremacy are also wrong (otherwise the grid girls incident would've never happened.) The only people who benefit from feminism are feminists, as it gives them a way to use guilt to acquire power, money, fame, freedom from personal accountability and a posse of sycophants who will blindly lay down their lives to defend them because an attack on a single feminist is an attack on all feminists.
@Endymion7666 жыл бұрын
imo, it's not actual feminism. It's plain ole misandry disguised as social justice. But I guess I lost that argument, so we have to call it feminism or else we're racists or something. So we call it feminism, thereby dragging actual feminism down from its hard won station and throwing it into a muddy ditch.
@SailorJenova6 жыл бұрын
+kc armstrong I was referring to the Equal Pay Act of 1963 ....but as I said, it wasn't just feminists who made that possible , and it wasn't just feminists that wanted that. Apparently, that is....I personally feel they had less to do with that then what we (Gen Xers) were taught.

You know, funny story, pink is actually traditionally a masculine color, associated primarily with young boys. "I don't see why I should hold myself to a higher standard " r.i.p. Feminism as a concept isn't a bad thing. Some people take a well meaning concept and push it into extremism. Condemning ALL feminists would be taking the most extreme examples and portraying them as the norm(Which you kinda did). Misrepresentation is the enemy of logical debate. If you walk into a conversation with a feminist assuming they're a monster, You'll most likely have a monstrous encounter. Just like if a feminist approaches you assuming you're a monster, you probably won't buy them a cake after attacking a character.

11:00 Biological sex differences mean men and women will never be completely equal in these things. However, social norms do reinforce and exaggerate the biological differences. Women may have a lower desire to study physics than men for biological reasons, but when women were banned from going to university, that resulted in less women studying it than the biological differences alone would have resulted in. Similar things exist for men, with biology meaning less men want to be teachers or nurses, but social pressure pushing those men who would like to do those things away from those careers into ones they want less. Remember the biological differences are on-average - height is mostly biological but a lot of women are taller than most men despite on average being shorter - similarly, a lot of men have more feminine personality or intelligence and vice versa, despite on average differences and these things being mostly biological. Twin studies and the like suggest personality and intelligence differences are only about 50% biological, not sure if that applies to differences between the sexes (something to find a study on i guess) but I'd be surprised if the social pressures weren't exaggerating the biological differences to some extent.

Feminism helps men by acting as the best possible filter men can use in determining which women they should be associated with, much less get get romantically involved with or, Heaven forbid, marry. While men should still vet potential partners properly using certain objective measures (industriousness, frugality, loyalty, self-control, good health, etc.), any man can take one look at some blue-haired man-bashing shrieking banshee and know never to go near such a woman.

12:50 this is just a dumb straw man. The point isn’t to get feminists to advocate for men to do things they don’t want, the point is to point out the hypocrisy. Feminists endlessly demand special privileges to increase women in fields they are underrepresented in or just desirable fields in general in the name of equality, but do nothing regarding the same for men. The same for stereotypes or gender roles, which they are just fine with if on the surface it helps women or hurts men. This has real world effects, for example right now men in the USA are something like 40-30% of graduates, yet women receive billions more in financial aid, most of it in efforts to increase women in underrepresented fields like STEM, but basically no attempt is made for men. Or in the dating market, traditionally it was expected the man was valued based on what he provided and the woman valued on their innate existence as women or mothers, feminists have made it so women are now also capable of being providers, but have done nothing regarding the expectation of men having to provide or be trash. This is a major issue because studies find even when a woman earns more or gets a higher education, her standards just rise and she still wants a man who makes as much or more than her or has equal or greater educational attainment. Now it’s creating a ridiculous asymmetry in the dating market where we have a large growing upperclass of women fighting over a smaller upper class of men, and a growing underclass of men with no prospects. Feminists constantly attack the existence of MRA’s or any alternative with the assertion feminism is for men, but have feminists marched in the streets to end 70% of homeless being men? Have they raised money for the 80% of suicide victims that are men or the 90% of workplace deaths and injuries that are men? No they haven’t, this is what happens when you only allow advocacy of one group and no other.
@Ergeniz Жыл бұрын

Freeing people of either sex from gender norms would be good for them. Men today seem a lot more free to act in ways that aren't stereotypical manly than they were in the early 20th Century. However, I'm not sure if feminism has any role in that, even though it happened at the same time.

If you see this, try stepping back and seeing whether there are things in your life that are beyond your control - the way money works, the things expected of you in your life, the pressures you come under - and then eventually you'll twig that being edgy or contrary about the way things would be nice to be doesn't make your life better. Otherwise, decent points in places - it is important to source your arguments and things like that. Shame that you decided not to make your video better than the article you're clowning on.

This comment section: Literally just variations on "It didn't help anyone." Pretty awful, even for an entry in the circlejerk genre. 1/5 ⭐️

If you move your mouse around the video screen trying to avoid the dots appearing and disappearing you can make a sort of game out of it, which is way more entertaining than listening to Oddy drone on about pedantic feminist bullshit.

Hey, I've been wondering something in the past few days... do you know about CobaltCat? His uh... his "interests" outside of ED, do you know about them at all? Do you know about his "favorites"? I'm a bit curious to know how much the other ED regulars are aware of it all. I mean I never really cared much about the guy because he stayed pretty clear of me, but here lately he's been going out of his way to try and get my attention... and he certainly has it. At first I thought he'd make a good historical reenactment of what I did to "Mike The Great" aka Mike Sellers... but I think I may have stumbled on into something of MUCH greater trolling interest.

As opposed to every other male, I like girls from 18-30. Also something I fav'ed on DeviantFart doesn't really say much, compared to you literally programming a shitty game containing literal children literally shitting and wetting themselves. Are you still mad that I deleted your shit? Or are you mad about that nobody but you seems to care? Maybe I should delete some more.
@OnideusMadHatter6 жыл бұрын
"literal children"... you mean video game sprites? LOL Way to show off the fact that you can't differentiate between "literal children" and a VIDEO GAME. Yikes! You can't even tell fiction from reality! You aren't planning on shooting up any schools, are you Fumbles? And of course no one cared you dipshit, you deleted a bunch of random image albums that weren't even articles... although they were specifically intended to drive up traffic by latching themselves into Google image search results... soooo... yeah ya kinda fucked yourself there, but then... what else is new, amirite?! :D No surprise though that you didn't have the BALLS to make like Krade! The last time we had this little go round he deleted ACTUAL ARTICLES... like, the entire fucking WAGE GAP article! And here's you... thinkin yer somethin special, thinkin yer doin somethin I haven't already ripped all the fuck apart before. *licks* Oh I'mma do you up reaaaal slow. I think I might have you play the role of AlGore this time instead of Mikey. As unstable as you are... I don't think it'll take much to tip you right on over the edge, PedoCat. I'll fuck you up just as easily as I've fucked up dozens of other ED regulars before you. You're nothin special, just the flavor of the moment. Or to put that another way... you're presently the weakest link. That's why you've attracted my attention... not because you managed to delete a few dozen files out of... what is it... around FIFTY THOUSAND. LOL Yeaaaaah, good luck with the self-mutilation, PedoCat!

Don't take this vid seriously, it's got some big issues. It's a bit of a confusing concept I know, but sometimes, being nicer to people helps everyone to be happier overall. "Feminism" as a practice is a good idea - being nicer to everyone and trying to remove things that are nasty to everyone. The surface problems that this sort of audience runs into - a lot of the time based in "average numbers" and some dodgy science that doesn't match up to the actual uncertainty of human nature - all go into supporting the status quo, I.e. the way things suck right now. If you want to live better, you should start thinking more about what's in it for you to attack people who want to help you. I think the part in this video that I had the biggest issue with was how laboured you were about "wearing pink" and how helping "everyone" isn't good enough. Just because you don't want that kind of help doesn't mean it isn't an Actual Real Good that the rest of the world would benefit from. Why do y'all think you should hate free stuff?

"but sometimes, being nicer to people helps everyone to be happier overall." That's not feminism; That's called being a decent human being " helping "everyone" isn't good enough." Firstly: If you where never intending to help someone and then take credit for the convieint accident, then that tarnishes your own character. Secondly: why was the word everyone in quatation marks? "being nicer to everyone and trying to remove things that are nasty to everyone." Firstly: This is not feminism, you do not have to be a feminist to do this. Secondly: Who decides what is nasty to everyone? "attack people who want to help you." What attack was there? How was the content creator attacking anyone aside from the obvious idiots? Secondly: How do feminist try to help men? What have they done with the intent of helping men?
