As a long time Oilers fan, I’ve started looking at when Leon and Connor are due for contracts. And I’ve been nervous ever since. With a lot of the core signed long term (maybe only 4 years after Connor would resign would they have remaining) I think they both resign with the Oilers. I hope….

If Mcdavid and Draisaitl are serious about winning and keeping a winning culture in Edmonton, they will have to take discount contracts. That being said, by 2025-26 the cap is projected to be $92 million. So similar contracts for them of $12-14 million should be both appropriate and cheaper than deserved. 😅 But I guess we'll have to wait and see! 🫣

Why are people so scared about this? Guys WAKE UP! The cap will be rising every year now. Only reason it did not rise since Ken Holland took over is because of friggin COVID. Wake up or Grow up little whiny Oiler fans
