The risk/reward strategy of bringing magic to the tabletop has benefits for the caster but it also means that if things go wrong, both they and their companions might suffer. It's hard to nail the feel of magic in a Fantasy wargame but it seems like Corvus Belli might have done it!

I really like the magic/tinge mechanic, it’s something completely different to other games I’ve played. I like the calculated risk aspect, I can see there being real variation between how different players will play their spellcasters. Also the ability to oppose an opponent’s spell is very cool

Magic is one of the most worrying aspects, what is the life expectancy of a spell caster in the game? Because I think that in most games they will end up like popcorn in the microwave.

Risk reward though. Can't just pew pew with casters, which can get out of hand in some games. I like this aspect.

I like the 'Wizard duel'... not sure about the tinge effect.. I like to think that these spellcasters are well versed in their magics (otherwise, they wouldn't have survived their training). But that's just my I'll informed opinion 😂
