Actually if you look carefully at some of the scenes there are some floating lights denoting a skyway. It was a marker for the 3D animators to use but it stuck as a sorta system for skyways. The buildings likely have information transmitters and it’s quite hidden in the spires. Coursant control rooms are actually supposed to somewhere near the maintenance areas under the top city so it’s likely there somewhere. We saw them once when the droids became bombs. The levels below are more based on standard speeders hence less control though the giant hole does require permission to enter and use.

See Marshall J. Corbett of Grumman Patent for aerial cold plasma motorways depicted in of "NeoSeoul 2144 AD". Even cheapest VTOL such as a Kamov helicopter depicted in "Man in the High Castle" has extreme maintenance costs and fuel costs unlike a scene in an Aldous Huxley's "Brave New World" where a narrow pelvis female mechanic uses a ballpeen hammer to fix a rotorcraft so in of 2020 production they fly an "Aurora" flying car past chemical recovery furnaces where they recycle potassium phosphate from corpses until they land to park their vehicle to go to a rocket plane port to vacation on a "Savage Reservation".

How would a battle between Pilots from Titanfall and the Mandalorians look like and who would likely win and why?
@torntokoroa4 жыл бұрын
Probably Mandos unfortunately. I say unfortunately as a Titanfall fan (no. I don't enjoy Apex legends all that much) I say Mandos because their training is longer, more intense, and more in depth as far as we've seen. Their equipment could probably take more abuse compared to pilots.

The titans would live simply because the mangos have rockets and are too fast on top of that pilots just wouldn't be able to compete with mandos in any category
@Michael-vh3jp4 жыл бұрын
Depends on the pilots kits as well as skill of the pilots. Certain titans have a lock on feature and mandolorians have no countermeasures. And the mandolorians have never faced an enemy that fights in three dimensional ways. Also, it comes to the pilots weapons, the bodysuit is nowhere near as durable as the plating. An explosive weapon such as the softball, thunderbolt, etc would damage everything though the thunderbolt would likely damage helmets and jet packs, rendering a flying mandolorian into little more than a falling object that will die upon impact. Titans will play a minor part but the pilots are the real threat.
@lajoyalobos20093 жыл бұрын
A lot of airliners (Boeing at least) have "Flight Director" which essentially shows as a target to keep you on the "invisible magenta line" if you are flying manually. It uses the navigation data that the autopilot uses. Some airlines actually prefer to switch off and land manually as they come in for approach and grumble when they hear of bad weather ahead. Others will strictly do an automated ILS approach no matter how good conditions are. I imagine in the SW universe if one could engineer a droid, autopilot would be far easier to install on nearly every conceivable vehicle and yes, used and preferred by most for ease of use. The Coruscant grid doesn't seem to slow or lock. Probably due to the availability of a 3rd dimension as opposed to our 2d roads.

Great attention to detail. Cessna's have to be very careful of avoiding wakes from larger aircraft during landing. It'll kill them by either flipping their craft or slamming them into the ground. It's scary stuff. Clouds will do that too.

Interesting video especially on the airport part and the automatisation part. But a small precision on the airport, you have lanes of flight (generally at 10 000 m or 30 000 feet ) for jet which are probably what is displayed at 8:57 and below what is summarized as a stacking of large and larger barrels. A small, private plane can enter a large airport lower barrel and still be waiting for a commercial airplane to land before landing but the barrel are also for a radio purpose, once you get out of the barrel system and get into the mountain with a small plane for example, you do self-information on a specific channel for other pilots in the mountains but that's all I know from personnal experience.

It's possible that speeder bikes, especially older or cheaper models, might not even have an autopilot, similar to how most motorcycles today don't have cruise control for a variety of reasons. Maybe speeder bikes have special traffic laws allowing them to be piloted manually while other craft have to use autopilots, kind if like how in some places you can lane split on a motorcycle. A speeder bike also affords better visibility, and in the event of a crash will likely cause far less collateral damage.

If everyone had a flying car I reckon you'd just put them all on autopilot. What's interesting is that it's not completely obvious to me that the grid system makes sense if you no longer have physical roads containing the vehicles. You could route vehicles like tracks on a multiple layer PCB with 'vertical' and 'horizontal' layers running at 90 degrees to each other and probably lots of layers, the lower altitude ones for old, slow vehicles and the higher ones for newer, faster ones. And you'd need the equivalent of vias too - regions where vehicles spiralled up or down to higher or lower layers.

I feel like we are only a few years away from true self-driving cars. But, remember: don't ever buy a car that can't also be driven manually! Lack of software support on older models and the possibility of malfunction means that sometimes, you might need to take over for the computers. Also, it makes me sad to see the near total obsolescence of manual transmissions.
