Rio Jongsae Kim is the owner of Kim's Shoe & Bag Repair. He shows us how he restores a pair of ankle boots that were chewed by a dog. This includes removing the old leather heel plates, cutting out new leather strips and rubber heel plates, attaching the new leather and rubber to the boots, and repainting the heels.

He didn’t even try aligning the leather to the bottom of the heel. It should be horizontal and parallel to the heel, not going at a 45 deg angle?

@@Heyitspatrick yes it's fixed, but a good cobbler try to repair the shoes like it was before. I'm a cobbler and I wouldn't be satisfied with this work. This repair sadly won't last long, I can see he didn't prepare the rubber, he didn't prepare the heel bloc to receive nails, so he didn't nail the rubber part (which is essential). It will surely come off fast because the type of glue he is using doesn't work well with rubber /plastic. He should also have hammered the rubber part instead of just pressing it slightly. We usually use 2 Bars of pressure.

Sorry but the pattern in the leather should be horizontal not diagonal, and that rubber hill will be gone in no time, thats why the plastic one had those plastic screws on it, I don't wanna sound an a**hole, but this was not a good restoration

Somehow I read the title as "Dog professional chew boot". And think this dog must be work for a shoe company to test the durability of newly design boot, it is like the best job ever for the dog.

Sanding the surface helps the glue to sk better as well. Cuz sanding the surface opence the pores, where the glue will go inside to
