MvC will always be one of my top 5 favorite fighting games. When it first came out my sister took weekly ice skating lessons for about a year and anytime I'd go with my dad would give me $5 in quarters and I'd play MvC the entire time. Mega Man and Venom was my go-to team. Today it's Captain Commando and Venom.

You haven't mentioned Marvel vs Capcom 3, which is also a very good game, as it has a nice comic book art style, 3v3 and included some pretty surprising characters (at the time) such as Deadpool (before the movies came out, as MvC3 came out in 2011), X23, Wesker, Super Skrull, Viewtiful Joe, Zero and more. Also, the modding community of MvC3 is literally the only thing keeping the fanbase alive at this point, so it hasn't been completely deserted just yet.

Was a odd game for me as i could not click with it, it did so many things right it looked and sounded great it was fun and i really liked the story mode as finally we had something new not been told before.....but the game play it just felt a bit homogenised with very similar combo paths ...and the fact they went back on their promise to not have multiple versions of the same characters. I do wish we had a story dlc to take advantage of the new characters they added

i wish all iterations of each saiyan characters just stays in 1 block at the character select screen and it should ask the player to choose between normal, saiyan (goku and vegeta's kids), saiyan god till saiyan 4 (goku, vegeta, gojeta) . 5 gokus or 4 vegetas in an entire select screen is exhausting and those spaces could have been for other movie characters as well

To be fair Ark System Works is THE fighting game developer studio, with so many games and franchises under their belt, there really was no chance for Capcom to fight against them, especially when Disney basically screwed them over, I was actually surprised that Infinite wasn't worse than what it was, and I can appreciate their attempt to try and go back to the punch and kick controls, since Marvel Vs Capcom 3 simplified the controls and combined both punches and kicks, but unfortunately despite their efforts their game would have never been able to compete with DB FighterZ, that other game was just on a whole other weight class, and I'm glad that things happened like that anyway, because somebody had to put Capcom in their place after they have been letting their greed go to the head, even back during the days of Marvel vs Capcom 3 as they released Ultimate in the very same freaking year as 3...

I remember how Marvel vs. Capcom would fall and fall hard thanks to Infinite. That and when Dragon Ball FighterZ came out, it basically destroyed MvC. Marvel v Capcom Infinite felt sterile and by the numbers. It lacked the impactful style that other Capcom games are known for. Infinite looks like a game that was not created with love and care.
