I almost maxed out my Td 17 using splitter cables, with 6 cymbals, a diy e cowbell, (not counting the hats),and 5 toms,and i don't miss the choke feature much, especially on my splashes.Did a A to E conversion with mostly Tama shells. I love it! I dont nesaseraly Need all the extras, But its fun to have em !! And I learned almost everything I know about edrums for your channel! Thanks for the work u do for the edrum community!

Great video Justin. Ive tried numerous types of splitters and the threshold issues that you mentioned were the biggest deal breaker for me. Instead I chose to go the midi route with a second hand TD-11 module to trigger extra cymbals via EZD3. I have both modules connected directly to the laptop via usb over midi and just changed the midi notes of the TD-11 to unused notes and have both modules output the signal to the main module via EZD3. No daisychaining necessary. Works like a charm!

I've added 2 Cymbals and a Tom to my Alesis crimson II using a generic Y splitter ( 3.5 male to 6.5 female monos) and it works just fine with the module. You can also use RCA Y splitters as I've tested and it works as well, you only need more adapters to connect the cables. The Cymbals and the Tom pad are one zone only and I'm using mono cables to connect them to the Splitters.

On my Alesis Crimson II I split Tom 4 rim by using a 1/4" stereo TRS to 2 1/4" mono TRS and it's working fabulously!

It'd be great if companies would just provide more inputs, or "virtual pads" via midi like the pearl mimic, or even Roland's old percussion set (I forget which modules had it, I know my old td20 did).
@tylerhill67065 ай бұрын
Companies are doing that. The that’s why Roland td 27 has 4 aux now. So between that and drum splitters you are set. Now if you need more than this that is why companies have their top gear like td 30 and 50 which is in same price range at the mimic

You can split a mono signal, going to a kick drum with just a mono splitter and essentially get two kick drums out of it
@sammcdouall48495 ай бұрын
If you have a 2 module setup you can use a splitter out of the kick into both modules. I use a guitar ABY pedal called Leem Pro AB-200 which allows you to independently turn on/off the kick to each module. I made simple cables that split (no resistor) the toms on my 2Box drumit module that work well.

On Roland modules, yes you can't hit both at the same time, but sometimes you'll notice interference or the wrong sound coming out, in which case you need to go to Pad Settings → Advanced → XTalk Cancel → Set it to 0. This will get rid of the issue, but you might get some ghost hits on the split cymbals through the rack now and then.

What do you need for a Simmons kit like the Titan 50? (To add a second kick pedal, like the Roland KT-9, where you're not just hitting a single kick tower with two beaters.)

I used ordinary stereo to mono mono several years ago with my 2box drummit5 to do this. I rarely used the rims on Tom's so wasn't much of an issue.

I use 2 module td 27 and td 25 plug it to the pc with sd3 didnt use splitter i just re assign the notes on both module like for example if tom head rim is 35 36. I assign on td 27 note 35 for both rim and head and on the td 25 have 36 on both rim and head that way i can choke cymbals try it out and you still have sound when you hit the tom rim

Do you have any drum splitter recommendations for the yamaha dtx700 module. Please I really need that. Thanks

I wonder if you can apply a noise gate circuit to further isolate the channels.

Hello Justin I have an alesis strike pro. Want to as other alesis cymbal pads but non of the splitter i bought seems to work. Do you think that the problem is that im getting stereo splitters into stereo female? Should i get stereo into mono splitters?

What part/tool do I need to combine two foot-blaster kick trigger inputs to one Bass drum input of a td-17 module. (i.e to trigger the Same sound with two triggers)

Splitters suck really, get a second module or an edrumin
@michaelk86425 ай бұрын
Splitters are not all that bad. As Justin mentions, there are downsides to using them and used them when I maxed out my eDrumin10. But, as you stated, I just bought an eDrumin10...a second one. And now I don't have to worry about using splitters at all . :)
@Serpent543215 ай бұрын
Not an option for the TD-50 or 50X if you want to trigger Roland internal sounds and have maxed out your inputs. Does not work! It (eDrumin) can however trigger another external sound source. It’s a Roland thing, with only a few Roland modules.
@tylerhill67062 ай бұрын
Can’t say I’ve had any issues with splitters on my Roland modules. While I’ve seen many have issues with things like edrumin10. Now hooking another module is nice to have but can be annoying if the other module has snake. It’s just one big mess. Which if you don’t leave your house it’s fine. If you play shows with it then bit messy
