I'm actually shocked at how good the content is here and i'm very picky. I didn't expect a roofing channel to go in so deep it's very appreciated and i'm definitely engaged. Saved me a lot of research too. I especially liked the part about cases that are settled being dismissed and unable to be used going forward, it's also a consequence of arbitration. EagleView's business model is to overcharge it's customers and sue their competition. Not a long-term strategy.

No one company should be able to monopolize the market tbh. EagleView is becoming the grandfather and too focused clearly on the wrong things along with I believe way over charging. Competitors have a better solution if not the same result but a more affordable price. It’s truly like being a roofing company. When you all offer the same shingles the same warranties etc how do you make yourself different from competitors. I believe EagleView is either in trouble, too much overhead or too greedy maybe a combination. It’s hard to be upset and go after others when they are doing it better and bigger tbh and stopped overall caring about the customer. They forgot the basics and should get back to them. If your work showed you wouldn’t have to go suing everyone. Don’t become a commodity. Just speaking out load 🤐 I hope “ “ the little guy wins and prevails. Thanks for another great video!

I’m a 20 year old roofing contractor who’s taken over his father company, I’ve scaled us from have 4 guys on payroll doing 1 roof a week to 25 roofers on payroll with 4-5 roofs being completed per week

I am the person at Pictometry who sold EagleView the aerial data so it could exist. I was also the catalyst for the merger. I am intimately aware of the roof report space from the very beginning. This video does a very good job of explaining the lawsuits. If you are looking for additional history, the world will also look back GeoEstimator's purchase by Pictometry, Pictoemtry's customer called Roofers411 and its ecommerce start date (March 2008) and the withdrawl of Corelogic's SkyMeasure as significant events. Other companies not being sued include iRoofing (DIY Software), HOVER (ground-based imagery) or drone-related measurements (although Certifly is no longer). Available to consult.

Thanks. Very informative. I have no problem with EV protecting its patents. If someone wants to come up with their own methods and techniques, that's great, too. To me (and I have no legal qualifications whatsoever), what EV has is an algorithm, not a "mathematical formula." If algorithms can't be protected, the world as we know it falls apart.

This is an extension of whether software can be patented or not. This is still the subject of ongoing cases. There is a view by the Supreme Court decisions that software cannot be patented, but the Federal District (which handles patent appeals) disagrees. The Supreme Court is a big proponent of physical things being patented, and not algorithms.

I use tape masurment view! all this systems are overhead, also they sale info in the back end to door knockers! Dimitry can you show the Directorii ADMIN Dashboard to your clients? If you and i was an roofer and we code system base on the need of the roofers. This other ppl in Technology aither is online masurment, Seo angency, Mom Basement web builder, CRM & Quotes, are all OVER HEAD, Eagle View have no chance of wining with GAF will go down real quick, I radher cancel all of them than the shingles. Shingles are in need Product, egleview is an high class, Also what make me a roofer if i cant masure the roof? what is the point of goin to the homeowner if i cant masur the roof or not providing estimate on the spot? why should wait 3hr for eagle view and why should i use some online form and the next you know homeowner recive 100 calls from roofers and some of them are with price bid? wher you thing those price bids coming from? crm? digital quotes? or sales ppl saling the estimate to otheres sales? BAD COP GOOD COP is the fashion in 2024

I ordered an Eagleview report just tonight and had the report in 6 minutes. And it’s quite accurate as well. No way anyone could walk a roof and measure it that quickly and efficiently for $18

I purposefully do not use Eagle View since they are too expensive and really no more accurate than other companies available. HOVER is the real deal for combined roof and siding measurements. Eagle View siding reports are crap. If it's just a roof report I need I use the cheaper companies at $12-15 dollars a report. Accurate enough yet cheaper. And BTW...Eagle View is NOT more accurate than hand measuring...period.
