By popular request from catching every Spinda pattern, today we're going to see which game is the best for catching every letter of Unown. Unlike the last video, we're going to catch every pattern in every main-line Pokemon game that has them available. Let's find out which is the best of the best!

Someone should mention that it is impossible to find all shiny Unown in gen 2. Due to how shininess works, only I and V can be shiny.

But tell me... Does theyr shiny counterparts have lower encounter rates than any other shiny? (in Gen IV) Cuz I spent a lot (believe me, *A LOT* ) of time inside solaceon ruins, I caught all of the 26 unowns, got pokerus fighting unowns and went from lvl 12 to 77 with two pokemon defeating just them and I didnt found a single shiny one. I'm starting to think that these 1atk 1sp.atk ev assholes dont shine.

Because in the versions the game is based off of you could not find all unown types right away and had to complete the different puzzles. Because in fire red in leaf green you dont have to do them anymore you really have a 1/26 chance to get the letter you want because its 1 out of 26 available variants. The way he said it in the video can be misleading somewhat but both statements are not based off each other.

Update for anyone curious: As of 2022, Legends Arceus is by far the easiest and most interesting way to go about getting all of the unown. They all appear as static encounters hidden around the map and you have to figure out their locations through your Pokedex. No need to battle or go through a million encounters for one specific letter!

My favorite reward for catching all the unown in Diamond and Pearl was if you transferred them into Pokémon Ranch, there would be a chance for a cut scene every 15 minutes where the unown would lay around like a keyboard and then sound off from a through z. Unown have always gave me this sense of mystery, all the way back to Gold/Silver, and Pokémon crystal. I remember catching them all and it’d always felt like there’d be more to it, like something was supposed to happen. so I’d go back to the ruins, In every version. It just felt like something was supposed to happen, like there’s some sort of secret waiting to be discovered even if there’s no information on the supposed event on the internet.

Tip for gen 2, After finishing the ho-oh puzzle in union an dropping into the ruins use an escape rope. This will take you back to the union cave and save a bit of time getting to the final puzzle :). also thanks for the video it was very enjoyable.

I have an idea for a short, throwaway video: try to capture a specific species of Pokémon in every Pokeball variant. I.e, try to catch a Scyther in a heavy ball, a dive ball, a love ball, a timer ball, etc.

Idk how you'd do it, but it might be interesting to talk about how they were introduced, and for the old ones, how new games handle including the variants. 11:36 "How long would it take to get every shiny version of Unown?" I have done the Shiny Unown Dex specifically in Alpha Sapphire, with the shiny charm. It took nine months. Of more or less daily hunting. So it'd likely take years in the older generations.

The good thing about heartgold: you can use the radio to sintonize the strange music in unown ruins, what it does is to echance your possibility to find an unown you haven't captured yet. It makes it reaaally easy to just capture them all!
