Some stuff for future runs: The fun thing with Taylew is that his health is actually not that high, he just has insane damage reduction. Not enough to matter at NG+7, of course, but at regular NG he's super tanky and you can actually heal him fairly efficiently, since you can generally cancel a fair number of hits with each heal. Let him take some aggro to give you some hits, then heal him up, and then rinse and repeate. Speaking of healing spirit ashes, you can toss the Blessing of Marika on the hot bar, and Mimic Tear can use it without losing it. Sort of like a better version of tossing the raw meat dumpling on.

guarding multi hit attacks tends to leave you standing and taking more hits after getting guard broken. as appose to being hit and immediately being layed out on to your ass by it, leaving you invulnerable. this can be demonstrated by guarding a dragons fire breath or letting it just hit you 1:38 with some exceptions (E.G. Torrent dying or poise broken, and being struck out of the air) you will not take damage when on your back, as a means to prevent un-reactable boss follow-ups

I'm really glad that everyone universally agrees that Igon is the best NPC in the game. Some pathos and vehemence go a long way. Also, I really wish the game did a better job explaining the deflecting hard tear. You don't even have to use a shield. I used Milady and perfect blocked with it instead. Slapped on the talisman that boost non-physical guard negation and that made it play like Lies of P(Kinda).

I didn’t finish the video yet but here’s the shield build that worked for me ARMOR: Moores set (All pieces) LH1 - Moore Greatshield RH1 - Sword lance (or any other pierce weapon really) with bleed. I found this had the best range. RH2 - Dragon Communion seal with Black Flame Protection, Golden Vow, and Divine Lords Fortify. Talismans - All Defensive Dragoncrest Greatshield Sacred Braid Pearl Shield Verdigris Discus (most important) This gives you 1,000,000 Guard Boost (I counted) and none of Radahn’s attacks deal damage to you if you hold Shield. Stats are pretty unimportant since you’ll be Overloaded to make the most of the Discus talisman, regardless of endurance. Find ur openings to hit radahn 2-3 pokes at a time, and ur bleed weapon should take care of the rest.

@@elir6919 the nerf didn't really do much. The bloodfiend arm bleed is the cherry on top. The charge R2 stance break is as broken and wasn't patched. Immediately after the: AOE sword lift attack, spinning in the air gravity attack, sword flip in the air (provided he doesn't do a 2nd one), phase 2 grab, phase 2 only combo that ends in jumping in the air and AOE slam you can safely get a charge R2. You CAN trade hits with other attacks but that's reserve for when you are sure he's going to get stance break. Also, impenetrable thorns wasn't nerfed, no idea why he didn't use it.

I killed him with Impenetrable Thorns today for my very first run. I refused to spec into intelligence more than necessary since I was using incantations the whole game. But with 65 Arcane, 60 Faith and 25 Intelligence with the Maternal Staff I was bleeding him for between 7.6k and 12k based on how good the cast was. If it whiffed I tickled him but after a few more tries it annihilated him in Phase 2. Finally my work is done…. For now

the problem i have with most shield runners on the radahn fight is they don't dodge anything, they just expect to tank it all and die as soon as their guard is broken. there are so many attacks that you can dodge or just straight up run away from in the fight. pairing that with good shield use makes the fight a cake walk

That’s just a greed problem. I used a shield and the only attacks I moved away from was the blood fire/meteor attack. Everything else was a matter of blocking and attacking at the right time. To avoid guard breaking I utilized stamina regeneration talisman and greenburst tear.

I only beat him on ng+1 but for anyone still struggling, Ansbach doesn't do enough damage to be worth the health increase. You'd be better off summoning after dodging the intro gravity attack. It's not really an opening, but the boss probably won't do enough damage to kill you in that time. Then just fight him normally

Yeah, not summoning ansbach (or thiollier) is the better way to go. If you still want their items after the fight, you can summon them and then use the finger severer. It will waste like a minute and half before every attempt but it makes sure that radahn's HP and poise doesn't increase. Also, anyone struggling on radahn, considering using the blasphemous blade with the new talisman of dread (along with shard of Alexander, fire scorpion charm and golden braid/dragoncrest greatshield) with flame grant me strength and flame tear. Each aow hit does bonker damage with this setup and heals you so you can trade with radahn. It gets much easier if you use the mimic tear with it. (I also equipped Maliketh's black blade incantation for the mimic to use)

I laugh when I hear people on NG or NG+ complain. It's the higher NG+ cycles that should be nerfed, the base game stuff is fine as is. They should stop at +5 then offer two items to increase difficulty like Sekiro. (Demon Bell, and giving the charm back) That way the try-hards still have NG+7, but everyone else can stop at NG+5, which is still PLENTY hard enough for more casual players. Things that make sense never get done though.

Having said that, in regular NG you can trivialize any and all of them with the right strategies, Radahn included, so even people like me, who mostly think of bosses as obstacles between me and the next cool location, can proceed without much trouble.

For me just using the verdigris shield maxed and the shield talisman and twin turtle talisman worked great second phase basically requires some holy resist to work as for astroid attack just dodge those but other than that with over 90% boosted block his attacks shouldnt be moving the stamina bar also you could add the elemental shield block charm to help with the holy

This fight took me 157 attempts and I loved every minute of it. I've got his moveset in my bones now. The fact you can avoid so much of the 2nd phases problem-moves with aggressively rolling into him and especially the nuke with an uplifting aromatic AND he can be parried in both first and second phase really made it click for me. I set my sign down afterwards just to help other people get through it.

The reason shields make you take more are as follows: Scenario 1: shield down, hit by 1st meteor, knocked down and immune for remaining hits. Scenario 2: shield up, take chip damage from every meteor (magic damage) until stamina is done then take the full damage of a meteor, also the chip damage kills the shield talisman effect.

Great Rune Radahn's or Godricks. Fingerprint shield, shield grease, antspur rapier with blood infusion (rot/ bleed) using poison flower blooms twice (user it after a rot proc for big damage if you feel safe to, other wise just shield poke), whatever armor you want try for at least 51 poise. All defensive talismans (erdtree favor +2, dragon crest, shield talisman, double turtle talisman (or whatever you prefer for your last one could do lance talisman since you'll be attacking while he attacks with a piecing weapon or rot/bleed for damage, consecutive hits, damage negation. Your choice) + wonderous physic with the new 5 min blocking/ guard counter tear + your choice (I recommend increased stamina). Hold up shield and poke away. Put the shield down and crouch to recover stamina when you can. The crouch helps to start the recovery faster. If you time your blocks right you take no damage at all and no stamina loss because of the new physic tear. If you do a perfect block and guard counter you get mega damage because of the physic tear. It doesn't make Radahn trivial, but you fight him with basically no fear. Just re-apply shield grease and play patient.

Cleared him without too much trouble on NG++, but this was after like a day of learning the fight on NG+ without the use of a shield and only using Dryleaf Arts. Then I spent a week+ doing co-op and helping other people fight him with a very grounded loadout and swapping out my Carian Shield for the Fingerprint Stone Shield. Deflecting Hardtear goes hard in that fight.

When you go down the Bludaluuda Tunnel, and beat the Piddlepuddle boss, it opens up to the Kakala Coast, and there is a tower, the Fluffiloga Tower. If you climb the Fluffiloga Tower, there is a bell that you can ring that prevents Radahn from entering phase 2.

A tip for the hand to hand. Use 2 hands for them then do jump heavy attacks. It is really fun that way and you can use more talisman for extra damage

Have you ever played Furi before? Based on what you said about modern games being too big and unfocused I think you might like it. It has hack and slash-style combat with some bullet hell elements, and the game is literally just boss fights (and some awkward, unskippable walking sections in between).

I HATE Bayle. I'm not sure what people are talking about when they say he's fair. Literally his dragon breath is faster than you can run and has such a large hit box it hits you regardless of which way you dodge, his charge has 3 hit boxes and can one shot you if you don't dodge perfect, he's hyper aggressive so summoning anything leaves you open to either dying or damn near close then he doesn't let up at all. He's got a fucked up hit box that's easy to wiff. Fuck Bayle. Nothing about his fight is fair...

my first time through the dlc was on new game +7, I recommend the blasphemous blade. I just used the ash the entire time and the healing allowed me to use only 1 red flask in phase once at most.
