Hello from England ELVIS died 2 days before my 12th birthday. I have been a FAN ever since. We still talk about Elvis 44 years after he died. As fans we will still go on talking about for the next 44 years after i have gone from this earth. What was it about Elvis? Well this is how i see it. He was different, a "ONE OFF" thoughtful, kind, generous human being. As a kid he had a "style" of his own. At school he used to get bullied for being different but really the other kids were just JEALOUS. He SANG like nobody else He had a STAGE PRESENCE like nobody else He had the audience in the "PALM OF HIS HAND" He had that "SWAGGER like nobody else" And the ENTERTAINMENT value was OFF THE RICHTER SCALE Elvis WAS and STILL IS MY HERO. Its a strong word BUT ITS TRUE

There's a document been found framed in an Italian restaurant in Memphis that was issued by the paramedics that responded to the call to Graceland that fateful day. It seems that when they got there Dr Nick was already there. It may be that they called him before the called the Paramedics. If this is so then valuable time was wasted. Time that may have saved Elvis.

As we think about Elvis on the 40th anniversary of his death. And if you wish to pay your respects at his grave site. I heard his estate will charge you a fee. That is a total disgrace. I know if Elvis was here he would be preferred that nobody would be charged to pay respects to him. He's probably rolling in his grave. It's a sad day it just shows you what corporate greed can do. Now I know why John Lennon chose not to be buried anywhere.

i was there this week at graceland and have a different perspective- unfortunately it is not strictly about the $$$- we are 40 yrs down the road and we live in a different world and climate than the 70s or even the 80s - graceland like other tourist attractions has large crowds at peak seasons of the year and security is a must due to the real threat of terrorism and other unwanted activities such as protests which took place at graceland last year- i would rather pay than to see the very real possibility of elvis's grave being desecrated- the fee also weeds out those who might want to instigate such activities
@jimplper7969
@jimplper7969 7 жыл бұрын
elvismickjim1973 yes it is about money it's about corporate greed. People do not pay to go see John Kennedy's grave. The money that Elvis Presley's estate has made off his albums and other activity that they have at Graceland more than covers the cost for security and the crowds of people that go there each year. It's sacrilegious the charge anybody of fee to pass a grave site. It's not a show it's not a circus. It is sacred ground. And they have more than enough money to pay for the security without shaking people down for more money because they are greedy May Alvis rest in peace and I will not pay one red Cent to see his grave.
@overcomerbtboj

I looked behind me She said (not so kindly at that), l said yes, she said you leaned over too far and almost set the Alarm off.. l said ok not too nicely, and my Daughter said Mom? )look l turned around and l said WOW NOW there it is.. The Gold Suit!! I stood by that black Security Lady that was mean.. she was listening to my Daughter n l (and Grandkids), and she said was Lisa Marie here when Elvis died? I said yes she was! That Black Lady said no Lisa was NOT here then, l said Lady yes she was, l said use that Radio you have on and call someone that actually knows, because she was here! She walked behind us and asked a Security person! She said oh she Was?? Most everyone was listening in that Room after she pulled me away from that thing l was reading that Paper! So after she found out Lisa was there l whispered to her and said something like do you like your Job she said yes Ma'am l do, l said you may see everything around here, but l'm a Fan, sometimes can know more than an Employee! I was real nice, n she had been too! I went to take a Picture of the Gold Suit, my Batteries went out on my Camera, the Security Lady was right there, l said can l keep this thing around my Neck they give ya when you came in pretty much saying l paid to get in.. l said could l please go in the Van type Cars you come to the House in and ride over to the Gift Shop and get a Throw away Camera? I have to have a Picture of that Gold Suit.. She said yes but come to this Door and knock, l said oh ok, l will thank you so much! She came to the outside Door with Me, n l went, got the Camera, and Batteries for mine that went out on me OF ALL PLACES TO RUN OUT OF BATTERIES YA KNOW, I KNOW!! I KNOCKED ON THE DOOR, she opened it quick, n l think l gave her a Hug!! I bet she wore that SMILE on her Face all the way home, n told her family!! As legendary an entertainer as Elvis was....clearly he had his problems....the drugs and suddenly snapping and shooting his TV. Was he on drugs then? Or was that "him"? No one's perfect but.....drugs and hooting electronics? : Fans overlook things like this. As they did for Bruce Lee to this day (e.g. his films that were actually poorly done and actualy made no sense)... Both of them will forver be a part of pop culture and some of her pasts. drowing up. Nothing like the 2 of them today.....never will be. They were "originals". and "ground breakers"...

KD Fulton, FALSE, there's no money left in EP's estate. EP's music was sold to Sony Music. Priscilla saw to it that Graceland became its own corporation, or it would've been gone long ago. BTW, Priscilla never even got one penny from EP's estate nor was she in EP's will. Lisa Marie squandered away her inheritance.

Dwightinho56, Linda Thompson didn't and neither did Priscilla. Lisa Marie squandered away her inheritance. All of EP's music is owned by Sony Music Priscilla saw to it that Graceland became its own corporation, or it wouldn't been lost too. She's never received even one penny for her efforts.

u shouldn't remember Elvis Presley in past tense because he's not dead yet.. still alive and still making music ..these people where all in on this..to save Elvis Presley ..so he faked his own death ...do the research.. ge was an f.b.I. agent..did alot of undercover work... he's received alot of death threats ...but do the research... everything is true... today Elvis Presley is83years young.. when the movie lonely street was made Elvis Presley was in his early 70s..he's in this movie.yes they had an actor made up to look like and older Elvis Presley. .but the real Elvis Presley is in this movie... Elvis Presley is the one doing the karate scene in this movie... he's also doing all the singing.. plus Elvis Presley takes off his sunglasses for a few seconds and then u can see his beautiful greenish blue eyes ...this is the real Elvis Presley ....watch the movie... u will see him in this movie.... anyway do the research.. u will be amazed at the truth...

Exactly! Do the research and you will see that he died on August 16, 1977. Elvis, of all people, had no chance of living to the age of 83, sorry to say. Even at half that age he had serious health problems. And, by the way, the FBI does not hire rock superstars to go "undercover" for them! You're talking about the most recognizable human being on the planet, and you think he could work undercover???!! He couldn't even walk down the street! Especially considering that he was dead at the time. It's a very specific mental illness when people are willing to believe the most whacked out insane conspiracies that make no sense, rather than believe the truth.
