If we're being honest none of the actions in chapter 1 were injustifiable. You can resort to cannibalism if you have no other option like that rugby team crashed in the andes plus the guy was already dead. Since they were trapped starving, trying to run away by breaking into a house and stuff is competly justified. So is killing both guardians as these fuckers wanted them to die either by bullet to the face or starvation. The lady downstairs is more questionnable but it's apparently slef defense too and considering she was perfectly happy with her condition and the state of stress they were under, it's no surprise that she tried to harm andrew and that he ended up killing her. Hell it's difficult for kids to be considered criminals, killing the other girl could have been a simple mistake (which it was) they would have been sent to juvenile camps or some stuff but not much else really. Even the hotel part of chapter 2 is justified, nobody is gonna snitch on them for going to a party uninvited even less so if nobody knows, asking the demon to attack the cultist isn't a criminal offense either since demons allegedly don't exist and therefore it's just a bad joke. The guys they shot multiple time is literally a hitman hired to kill them dead we even have his notes to prove it. If that's not self defense i don't know what is. At this point, before they enter their house, they could have gone to the police and accuse the water company of attempted murder, that is the entire truth and all th actions they did was in an attempt to escape them
@oribiedhenau9753 Жыл бұрын
I would also add that, since the building had no camera and was burned to the ground, there's no way that the procecussion could have obtained enough proof to procecute the kids for what happened in it. The only people that would be able to provide any proof would be the "water company" which would be unprobable. Also also, the kids were officaly declared dead for quite a long time before the events, which I think means they are no longer considered a legal entity.
@lilywilson6230 Жыл бұрын
@@oribiedhenau9753they would still be charged faking you’re death is illegal and it’s considered insurance fraud and also the murder of the woman is murder in the first degree legally because her attacking them was her defending herself so it’s not really self defence if you hold someone at gun point and they attack you and the reason it’s first degree not second is cause Layla had planned to kill her anyway and who would the court believe anyway? Well, they were neglected as children, and Andrew was mentally tortured by his sister, so Andrew might get some time in a psychiatric hospital, a fine, but otherwise he’s ok. @nighthero7 Жыл бұрын
Well, truthfully, a lot of these they'd probably get off. They were in that situation because of the parents, so they will be given lots leeway. The leeway only really goes as far as 'not putting other people's lives endanger', but most of the killing is survival/self-defense, which you can't be found guilty for. Guilt requires making a conscious choice to do wrong, either before or after (such as covering it up). For Lele, most of those are just personality flaws. No. Having a terrible childhood etc is not an excuse to commit crimes. If it was most of the people in prison IRL would be on the loose. Andrew is going to prison for AT LEAST one count of murder (woman in the apartment) and two counts of conspiracy to commit murder (parents), maybe also for the killing of the guard and the assassin although those can be argued to be justified under duress and self defence. Anyways, life in prison, no mental institution

The only way I could see them being declared innocent is if they plead insanity in which case they're never seeing the light of day outside an asylum ever again.
@guerreiroazul3230Ай бұрын
Not necessarily, they can't bw persecuted for the things they did as children, and all the actions in the apartment would fall under duress, the rest is more complicated, but a sentence could be greatly reduced with a mildly competent lawyer
@yixoАй бұрын
@ Even if she gets no sentence Ashley isn't seeing the light of day outside an asylum ever again. Any semi competent psych evaluator is sending her to solitary for life.

Cannibalism itself isn't illegal in most places. most methods of acquiring and distribution of human parts for consumption is illegal however, but the act of cooking and eating isn't as long you acquired it through a donation, the dead person donated their body to you, specifically for consumption, before dying of natural causes/not because of you.

4:33 how I would defend Ashley: your honor my client knew the gun was empty and was just messing around. do you really expect an adult that has absolutely no experience with a gun what so ever are able to handle a real gun in their hand? your honor have you ever heard of the term "one that is not in training is the most dangerous and biggest idiot of them all" on top of that my client was already going insane from the pure isolation with her lover, yes my client was irresponsible with her own approach to the situation however my client did know the gun was empty. My point that I try to say is, my client was being immature and acting like a an absolute child, with an empty gun, this situation is the pure example on why you should not give a child a gun. she may look like she is a responsible adult but deep inside she is just a 6 year old child because she was neglected by her parents.

Objection : When a real gun is pointed then it's considered enough of a death threat. And a potential harm.
@kylewilson281911 ай бұрын
Objection! Ashley KNEW the gun was empty because she was present when Andrew used it to kill the hitman only a day prior. She remarks on this and even chastises Andrew for using all their bullets, even going so far as to both inquire about the availability of bullets AND about using the gun as a decoy/threat in the future, which she later does. Furthermore, when Ashley brandishes the gun, it is NOT in a life threatening situation. She does it simply because she wants to force her mother into compliance/non-resistance via what any reasonable person would perceive as a very real threat to their life. Therefore, we have both awareness of the situation, no reason for self-defense, AND premeditation.

Fun fact: the act of cannibalism isn’t illegal itself, but the act of murder is. Which is why in a survival setting a person can eat their dead comrade if they’re starving as long as they don’t kill them themselves
