the mets have heart, toughness, resilience credit to Lindor and Mendoza those guys are at the center of this turnaround. they just don't quit they have the makeup of a serious playoff contender.

@@JJG86 not really guys like Sean Manaea, Sevy, Nimmo, Alonso to an extent has stepped up. even the kid Mark Vientos who looked like he might not have a job on this team and look what he's done. he's become the everyday 3B and been great.

The difference between this team and a lot of previous ones is that if they get behind early you still feel like they are in the game until the last out. I remember lots of Mets teams in the past where if they got down by 2 or 3 runs early then you might as well just turn the game off because there was no chance. This team however can string together a few runs over a few innings or have that monster inning like they did in the 9th yesterday. Now, they might still break my heart in the end, but at least they feel competitive this year so... Ya gotta believe!

The team at SNY have no foresight ability. If the Mets are playing well, they're cautiously optimistic...if the Mets are imploding, the team is eviscerated. Hey, most fans are like that too. Vegas, baseball analysts, even Mets management had few expectations for this season. The Mets have nothing to prove. Enjoy what you see because it's a ton more than what anyone thought would happen...including me. And Sal, the Mets are 5-5 against Atlanta this year with a couple of heroic games thrown in there...the Mets already have proven that they're competitive against the Braves.

The big issue I have with the Mets is they rely on the long ball to generate offense. In the playoffs when you are going to see A+ arms starting and bullpen its going to be hard to generate runs.

I would prefer a team with 300. hitters up and down the lineup like the 98-20 Mets that formula gets you far into the playoffs the teams that rely on the long ball in today's game just isn't going to get it done but this team has a special feeling and its always somebody different getting it done so we will see. I hope I am dead wrong.

I am trying not to get my hopes up too much … of the 4 main contenders the Mets have the toughest schedule. Add to that the standard “Mets down the stretch choke” … yeah. Not feeling good about it.
