People who say he doesn’t deserve it, for a decade he was the premier 3rd baseman in the National League. His impact off the field meant more than his play on the field. No ego, and always a leader, that goes beyond numbers. He deserves this for being a “great Met” in more than statistics.

I wish Pete would’ve accepted the extension he was given back in 23 and stayed with the Mets long term. The Mets, my hometown team and favorite sports team of all time, deserve to win and they deserve to win with Pete. We should’ve won with David, but it is what it is and David’s a fantastic liaison for the Mets as we move forward as fans who want to desperately win the chip

Mets don't have a lot of generational players. Wright was pretty solid....not sure his number should be retired, though.

He was better than Jeter. One of the best 3B in the game. Injury a bit early is the only reason he won't make the HOF but he wasn't even kicked out on the first ballot
