I was 299 lbs decided that day 03/2017 to lose weight. I'm doing a life changing experiment. I'm down to 192. If you want to lose weight you can't diet. Just change the way you see food. Little changes help so much. Cuomo is 100 % correct. Went through counseling stomach surgery so much and have come so far. Every day is a struggle but so worth it.

A baby trying to walk would first fall down a number of times. She would get right up and try again and again and again and then finally she walks with a swag. So it's the same thing as humans grow up. Once we fail at something and don't stop there but rather keep trying, in the end we succeed. Thanks Chris for sharing.

Hey swagger. . !Love the session 😊. But. . .I wouldn’t encourage people to skip meals. That’s not healthy. Skipping meals consistently may trigger your body to store fat and in turn actually make you gain weight!. . .Reading everyone’s struggles on the page and I’m glad to see most people overcoming them. Don’t beat yourself up. Dieting is about changing habits. Mostly physiological ones. It’s hard but attainable.

I am in my early 40s and I think I am in good shape. I am not a heavy smoker; I have never been in the past 20 years. I smoke, on average, three cigarettes a day. I know it’s not good for me but I still love it, as far as it is less than 5 cigarettes a day and it often is. I indulge sometimes, rarely though, especially when I am going through something or sometimes on the weekend too. Obviously, I feel horrible about myself when I indulge. One thing that sometimes happens to me and you did not talk about is that I indulge and give myself permission to indulge, promising myself that I am going make up for it by being hard on myself or not smoking at all tomorrow and when tomorrow comes, the pressure or unreasonable expectations of the promise makes me be more likely to indulge again. Long story short, the key is consistency, not discipline. Discipline is a myth, a big lie. There is no room for failures, self-compassion, acceptance, and bouncing back in discipline and often leads to self-loathing. However, Consistency, unlike discipline, covers all my ups and downs, good and bad days at work, weaknesses, deficiencies, the ebb and flow of my emotions, failures, lapses and so forth. I try to be consistent and live up to the expectations of the week, and by extension, the month at a time, as opposed to focusing on one individual day or lapse. By the way, I apply it to other areas of my life too but I said that because smoking, or any other addictions for that matter, is particularly challenging and can easily spiral out of control.

I started an antidepressant last September when my therapist diagnosed my depression as clinical. I had been on the fence for several months about starting that medication, as my psychiatrist had prescribed it 4 months prior, and it was just sitting on my nightstand. I kept hemming and hawing over whether or not to try it, mainly because of possible side effects. When I started to go downhill to a dark place, I went for it and gave it a shot. Almost 10 months into my experience taking the pill, I will say that it saved me from shutting down and giving into my illness. But no pill is a magic pill, and it's a work in progress. I still have my really horrible days. When I had two really bad anxiety attacks in work last October, my doctor put me on a second antidepressant to take at night to keep me grounded and calmer. The meds do help to control my depression, but like I said, I have my bad days. I am realizing that it's completely okay to not be okay and have horrible days. And I tell myself that I need to keep going and to keep working on it. I'm so grateful to you, Chris, for sharing your own struggles, and for advocating for mental health and erasing the stigma. Health is health, pain is pain, whether physical or emotional ❤❤❤.

Always wonderful brotherly advice you provide us with. Especially for those of us unable to maintain a healthy relationship with our own brothers 😢. What changed my perspective of failure is looking at it differently. FAIL = First Attempt in Learning. That changed my whole perspective on the concept of failure. I no longer judge myself harshly, use negative words about not meeting goals and do what Iyanla shared with us here … Surrender, Trust, Accept, Release (STAR). It’s a wonderful strategy for living a happier healthy life. I also I don’t use the word DIET anymore, rather that I implement a healthy LIFESTYLE which consists of food in moderation, exercise & meditation! Thanks again for all the light you shine! You are making a big difference P.S. Please explain to the good folks you know that are on team former guy … we get they don’t like DEMS for whatever their reasons … but that is never an excuse to support a corrupt criminal, is it? TFG should now be identified authentically by reflecting the path he has chosen. He is a defendant and the E. Jean Carroll jury concluded (under the terms of what rape is) that he is a rapist. We can’t change what we WON’T acknowledge. 🙏 It’s time to stop being polite & referring to these guys as STRONG MEN. They are corrupt criminal leaders and Mr. T is clearly running for the top office in this country to stay out of jail and give himself the kind of power that Hitler had (with the GOP apparently on board 🤦🏻‍♀️). Stay strong little brother and nurture yourself the way the beautiful women in your life do. 👍

I was overweight most of my life. I didn’t realize that I was addicted to sugar! I cut way back on sugar when I read, “Sugar feeds CANCER cells.” After a month or two, I realized I wasn’t hungry as often. Sugar was actually making me hungry! Then I read that,” Sugar is more addictive than cocaine!” I believe I was actually addicted to sugar. I’ve lost around 70 lbs.! I do feel better on low carbs. High protein/ low carbs works for me. When I tried going vegan, I became very weak. Everyone is different. Best wishes for all to be healthy and happy. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and insights.

Buddhism teaches us that failure is only a lesson. Time to reassess and begin over correcting the past mistakes. Determination makes all the difference. I was a fat clumsy child I had terrible sence of balance. Riding a bicycle was a disaster. I kept falling over. I had no established center point. One day I decided I was going to learn to ride a bicycle if it killed me. It took most of the day. At the end U had gause patches on my knees but I found my balance. All of life is like this. If you want to succeed don't give up!

I was wondering how you lost all that weight so quickly! You’re right “consistency” is what makes “magic” happen. However, I can relate its frustrating to put in the work and lose a few lbs just to gain it back with a few extra, time for a reset. During these times is when people reach for the alternatives/ weight loss supplements and get frustrated that your body doesn’t look like Hugh Jackman in Wolverine or arms don’t look like Viola Davis in “The Woman King” (her body was fuego 🔥) ; not considering they had personal trainers, dietitians, nutritionists, & Chefs. Regardless 😤, I should still be able to look like that w/out all that in 3 months right 🤷🏽‍♀️🤪 I wish….

Okay, commercial break and in the spirit of helping you determine what should be a subscription video or a public video or to do it at all, I am going to treat these segments as if I am your counselor. Not your friend, but a counselor you are paying to be polite to you. You are layering ideas. Psychiatrists will have a word for it, and a drug that will fix it for you, or you could go to the illicit market and have more fun with it, but as your Christian counselor, I see no problem with it. The question is, will you like the way the rug turns out? Sit back and visualize. Your loom already has some lines completed and you are threading the next yarn. What is the stick you are using to tighten the weave? Listening to you as the rug, it wasn't exactly a pleasant experience to feel my head was on a chopping block and then you nicely put a lid on it; my head is the lid! I need to listen more, to hear if your analogy for comfort eating and self-loathing will end in a rug you would want to use.

Here is a throw to you: I'd like to be interviewed about my books. Would I be that, for example by you, I could sell more and get more income and reach my goal with it. Am I failing, if you don't interview me? Or is it you, failing me?

And. If I'm not mistaken, you're Catholic? Why then trying to become some kind of self-help guru/spiritual teacher? Ah! Isn't that what I am trying to do? No. I'm sharing my journey, my meetings and significant conversations and what I learned from them. And then asking my readers what it's like for them? A coach, which I am, ask open-ended questions, without giving answers or advice, and help people really achieve what they want with support and accountability with no failures, and with any obstacles that might show up discussed and dealt with.

Did you know that cleaning up after people's lies is a full time job? I have homework to do. My court papers were finally served to my ex-husband yesterday and I've got to go check on my mail hold since The Springs Rescue Missio likes to steal/tamper with my mail keeping me out of 1.3 million dollar settlements with Peak Vista Community Health Care Centers. I don't need to miss the court hearing I've requested because they think their lesbian social workers in kahoots with the lesbian illict drug dealers think they should mean more to me than my 12 year old child. I've got a new PCP who doesn't believe I beat Amy VanDyken and Erin Patrick (her father was once the GM of the Penguins) at Colorado private club state in the 100 free when I was 13-14. My doctor also told me if I wanted to keep up my political battle about proper STD testing for HIV, I think we'll get along just fine, that I should go to the CDC for the rest of my tests; and that is what I'm going to do as my side job to homework today. I'm afraid to watch this new video with you CCP. Did you want to be that close to "Chai-nah?" I love my "Asians." So, as I look at someone rubbing salt in your wound for an introductory picture and "teaser," I'm going to opt out for now and watch it when I'm ready to spar with a man almost twice my size and who I know I have what it takes to draw your punch.

Human! This is what we are! Perfict is what we are not. Expectations are wrong, asking for disappointment. The beauty of my life is the turmoil. Because the ststice quo teaches nothing. I quite expecting things. I look at life as a experiment. Because it is . We are all looking for our own path and experimentation is nessary. SO I HAVE ADOPTED A TRY THIS AND SEE WHAT IT DOES POLICY. I have no EGO invested in anything. Ego is the biggest problem Humanity faces. Because we now live in a egocentric society. Think about wealth(EGO) The concept of wealth and capitalism is pure insanity! Because capitalism is real life MONOPOLY We are all in competition against each other. Each and every one of us is according to capitalism is after the whole planet. Kumbaya! Where is the love in this? It puts everyone in total competition agsinst everyone else. Doesn't it? I have spent my life from the age of 6 looking at this. I have learned things that You will not believe yet. I do know what I speak of!

Commercial break. Hard lines, quitting, and the 3 month vesting schedule of popular culture. Christian counselor hat. Hard lines: Romans 2:6, "He will judge everyone according to what they have done." Quitting: Ephesians 5:29, "No one hates his own body but feeds and cares for it, just as Christ cares for the church." Vesting schedules: Hebrews 10:1-2, "The old system under the law of Moses was only a shadow, a dim preview of the good things to come, not the good things themselves. The sacrifices under that system were repeated again and again, year after year, but they were never able to provide perfect cleansing for those who came to worship. If they could have provided perfect cleansing, the sacrifices would have stopped, for the worshipers would have been purified once for all time, and their feelings of guilt would have disappeared." You are speaking of idol worship when it comes to comfort eating, self-loathing, and what it does to the body. People worship what they see instead of appreciating or denying the discipline, good or bad, that it took to achieve it. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 says your body is your temple, the verse just before says to run from sexual immorality. Why do people want an attractive body? Is it a rug someone will want to use, or love? How will it benefit the community?

Failure is not acceptable in our society. You are offering correct advice by debunking the "if you fail, you've lost everything" toward your goal. Not true. We should conquer the failure aspect of our journey first then anticipate and plan for set backs, embrase temporary failure as a learning experience, make adjustments based on what we've learned and continue to move forward with enthusiasm. Everyone is different in personality and circumstances. We should not compete with others to reach our goals.
