We did many trips to Mexico , going back to the late 80's. Most were around the Yucatan. back then Playa de Carmen was still a fishing village, had one hotel and no a/c. One of ur favorite places to stay was The Blue Parrot and another this motel behind the bus station for times when we had very little money. At the blue parrot there were tents on the beach, lots of mosquito netting and just rustic. How times have changed . Grateful for those bunch of trips before all the development. But... they were hot, humid summer trips. The schedule became getting up early, staying inside or in shade and napping between noon to 4 and staying up late to enjoy the drop in temps after sunset that made it a little more reasonable.

Will be living in it the entire time. Loved seeing your latest on Morelos, as it was always one of our favorite places. Can relate about the HEAT, Maddie, so don't let folks dog you on that (sorry Laska!). We are putting in AC mini splits, so we'll see how that goes! Maddie (sorry your name got autocorrected first time around) and Jordan, the absolute best tacos al pastor can be had at El Fogon in Playa Del Carmen. Unfortunately, they don’t open until 1pm so if you go too early they won’t be ready, but if you can wait until 2:00 or go later for an early dinner, they are so worth the drive. There are two locations. One is on Constituentes across from the Mega and the other is just south down from the Walmart on 30th! We prefer the location on 30th because it isn’t as hot or heavily trafficked as the one on Constituentes but they are both very good.

I moved to the US 3 years ago, to Houston of all places hahaha I laughed when you mentioned it, anyways I got used to the AC right away and it's the only thing that I feel I would struggle with if I visit Mexico in the hot days, That's why I try to go early in the year 😅I'm from Colima where the weather compares to Houston but as y'all said there is no AC and it's really hard to do anything but we do it because we don't have a choice, electricity is very expensive to be able to afford to have AC at home so I'm glad you made that clear for people watching your videos, I think you might received a lot of comments in regards of your complaints but they are not living there, you guys are. Honestly at some point I couldn't handle the heat of my home town and moved to Guanajuato, then life decided to play us a joke and moved us to Houston, but now we get our reward because we are living in upstate NY for 2 years, then who knows but for now we are enjoying Fall's weather 😁

I did that twice for a month each time, when I spent a couple years backpacking with wife. We contracted luxury apartments for a month but were almost entirely out of money--and had to wait for money to be wired--which ended up taking a month. So, we lived with much less than $10/day for both of us--once in Buenos Aires, Argentina and once in Salvador de Bahia, Brazil. But at least we were in great doorman buildings in wealthy districts. The big difference: You already have a running pantry. We had to go to the market to purchase groceries. So you can calculate 50 cents for coffee. But we had an initial cost outlay of 10 dollars for a bag. So, if you have 300 bucks and are calculating 10 bucks a day...just a bag of coffee hits you hard at the supermarket.

I think is "sope" remember in spanish "e" has a diferent sound.
@TangerineTravels5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your input! It’s pretty easy to pronounce words in Spanish once you know the pronunciation of each letter because words are almost always spelled phonetically. But I was wondering if the singular was spelled sop or sope - it would have a different pronunciation based on the spelling. Since Spanish words almost always follow similar rules and given that the singular of tamales is tamal, I was thinking the singular of sopes was likely sop. It looks super weird and is weird to say but so was tamal when I learned that because my whole life I had heard people saying “tamale” which I now know is wrong. ~Jordan

Burning the jungle is the typical manner of clearing the land for planting. Perhaps that is what is being done. You might consider asking someone why the jungle is being burned. Do not ask anyone whether it is being done legally. They are doing it at night because, as you note, it is hotter than "blazes" during the day. (Pun intended, sorry.)

omg, puerto vallarta heat is so bad this summer, it wasnt this bad last year, its even hotter where you are. one thing we cant run our AC as much, if we use over 800 kilowatt hours, we lose the subsidy and electric bills are almost as much as our rent. we never used our AC last year at this time at all. The singular of "sopes" is "sope". The plural of "tamal" is "tamales", because the rule is to add "es" to words ending in a consonant, e.g. "Camion-Camiones", "Camaron-Camarones", "arbol-arboles", etc. In the case of sopes, it's just a coincidence that the plural ends in "-es" :-)

I've watched some of your video's and I like seeing what Mexico is like, I mainly want to see what each beach and the color of the ocean is and if there is anything dangerous in the water, so I know what beach I want to go too. Apparently it's not all dangerous there, at least during the day. I have heard Acapulco doesn't have tourist like it used too, due to being a dangerous area. I want to see white sand and turquoise water before I die, is that only in Cancun and surrounding area? The one thing that I don't agree with is having a husky living in a place with intense heat, they hate it and were breed to withstand temps down to below -61 degrees although they still need insulated dog houses, some kind of door to keep wind out and straw bedding, but heat is not good for that dog.

Mexico is a big country it really does depend on what city of area you're interested in, I've travelled all over the country and most places are safe, common sense must be used as in the rest of the world, there are some zones not recommended but usually those places are not on the radar of people looking to move to Mexico, we also have very sensationalist media that highlights the worse in a 120 millon people country, there's different realities within, my advice is visit the most popular ones people move to, to get an idea then when more comfortable explore some other places

Hey Doreen! We just got back from a 2-week trip, but it seems slightly (emphasis on slightly lol) less hot than before, but still just as humid. It didn't rain at all today, but I believe there were lots of storms the past week. In our experience, the showers are off and on throughout the day when it's rainy.

Laska needs to gong the bell 🛎 more often 😂 Loved the video (as usual) And 👎 to the burning. I hate when developers around here tear down trees 🌳 to build a new housing development. Why can’t they take already existing homes that need work, fix them up and then sell. Recycling ♻️ houses!! 🏡 🏠

That is way BAD! Burning down Rainforests for the sake of development. The land and habitat should be protected. Good vid!

You betcha lol 😝 In fairness, I did ask for it without sweetener, which is how green juice is tolerable and more on the tasty side of healthy.

How easy or complicated is to own an electric car in México? I heard that there are not a lot of charging stations around. Love your videos!!!
