Just an update: I found that the double sided tape sticks well to the lathe but it didn't stick so well to the L-bracket so I started to drill some mounting holes but the cast iron just kept dulling the bit so I used some medium CA glue with some accelerator and it's holding great now. I also went ahead and drilled a couple of holes from the inside of the belt cover to secure the readout display.

Great information Dave. I have a metal lathe I would like to put a read out on. The treadmill unit I used to power the lathe has one but the power supply went out so I plan on building a new power supply for it. I will be ordering one of these units you used when I do it. Great video my friend, Gary

Thanks Gary. I really like this thing and it was only twenty bucks and it was easy to wire with clear instructions. Thanks for watching.

Thanks for this Dave! Although I don’t have a wood lathe, I just ordered 2 for some other machines 😆

I have the same system fitted to my lathe the only thing I done differently was add a drop of supper glue the the magnet just to add a bit more "Grab"

I thought about that but since it didn't fly off at 1600 RPM I think it will stay on. If not I have extra magnets. 😀 Thanks for watching.

It's a great addition to this lathe. Much better than trying to read the small print. Thanks for watching Lyle.
