​@@timdiggity just to add, if the player defeated the Grafted Scion at the start of the game, when following the path, there are nascent butterfly at the cliff where you fall down, and Torrent and Melina will then find the player at the foot of the cliff. Additionally, Melina has scarred arms/hands and guess what? If you look closely at the statues of Miquella in the Haligtree, his arms are scarred.

We already know Margit and Morgott are the same and their names start with the same letter, so it seems like it holds that other M names would also have the same logic. I had always thought it was a little bit of similarity in the name structure than just the first letter, but this video convinced me that it's just the first letter that's important. And I've even just remembered that it must also mean that Miquella is also Marika.

I think Ranni and Miquella worked together on the Night of Black Knives toward a common goal, only for Ranni to pull a fast one on him by adding herself into the equation. Godwyn was supposed to die a "true" death, meaning body AND soul. But Ranni destroyed her own flesh at the same time the Black Knife Assassins destroyed Godwyns soul, meaning his death was incomplete and Miquellas plan was thwarted.

This may be a bit of a stretch. But ranni destroyed her empyrean form so that she would maintain control over herself. It is possible that miquella divesting himself of his flesh is something very similar in theory. One thing to support this is the eye damage both ranni and melina have. Maybe somehow signifying the destruction of their original empyrean forms.

I think in Greek mythology it’s told we were originally chimeras. They had 4 arms, 4 legs, and a complete soul, making them perfect. A god grew jealous, and split them in two, even their very souls. This created man and woman, in search of their other half, their soulmates, to recombine again. Miyazaki could be referencing this myth as to a god, a perfect being. That’s what dictates Empyrians from champions and demigods, they have a second half. Radagon and Marika, Ranni and the Doll, Malenia and her daughter Millicent, and now Miquella and Melina.

He may be a part of her being via the two fingers, but not a soul-sharing way, more of a bonded way

Something that comes to mind to me is that when characters give fake names, they give names that are remarkably similar to their normal name -- Margott gives Margit, Ranni gives Renna, and Melina gives a name very close to "Malenia" - Which knowing the bond between Malenia and Miquella, it sounds like a very "Miquella" thing to do to use his sister's name instead of his own as his pseudonym

When Melina first burned her body away the first time she tried to burn down the Erdtree, it wouldn't surprise me if Miquella was burned alive in the process. This prompted his burial beneath the Haligtree until he was stolen. The flesh was thus left barren by Melina and Miquella. One leaves for the Lands of Shadow, the other lingers behind, seeking flame.

More things to add! Melina tells you straight up that she's not a maiden, yet can "play the role". Only someone who can act as a sort of conduit of the two fingers can do this. So if Melina can do so without being a maiden, she must have some sort of connection to the Greater Will, of which Miquella has in spades. Not only can she do this, but she can grant *us* the ability to power *ourself*, which strikes me as odd. Just a hunch, but I don't think other maidens could do this as it inherently allows a Tarnished to power up without adhering to the wishes of the Fingers. I find it interesting that nobody - not even Gideon is aware of Melina. He doesn't even mention her in any kind of dialogue, which seemed strange to me because he talks about everyone. But then he says that Miquella is basically a mystery to him still. And obviously he doesn't suspect you have a "false maiden" because he's very clearly an up-tight prick when it comes to the Roundtable Hold. So he would snuff that out immediately, I feel.

You're overlooking another possible meaning of "play the role": Miquella is not a maiden but is apparently androgynous enough to appear that way (St. Trina). Most premodern theater had young, feminine boys playing all the female roles. Miquella is willing to drag for you so that you can help him carry out his plans.

I've assumed Miquella is guiding us the whole time, but never put two and two together like this. Point of note: when first meeting Melina at a site of grace, the time is forcibly set to night. The Tarnished dozed off and meets Melina in a dream, which is, of course, St. Trina's domain.

Tbh this would make more sense if the same was true for other meetings with Melina, but the rest of them can happen at anytime, not to mention that Melina fights Morgot with you and sacrifices herself to ignite the giant's flame. The only thing that doesn’t add up is Melina saying she’s burned and bodiless. Miquella isn’t burned, he’s in mohgs boss room in the egg. However this could be explained in the DLC and miquella could have been burned by messmer somehow. Also if Melina is actually Miquella, that would mean that Miquella and ranni are the only 2 demigods who sacrificed their physical form and is interacting with you in spirit form. Miquella being the sun and ranni being the moon. When they come together they form an eclipse

For all we know, Miquella has already detached himself from his body, remaining only in SPIRITUAL form. Who else does this? RANNI, WITH A DESTINED DEATH KNIFE, WITH BLACK-RED FIRE. We know from Rogier's quest that this is a weird forgotten ritual. If Miquella knew this ritual, it makes some sort of sense that he shared the ritual with Ranni. EVEN MORE SO knowing that Ranni has the torrent whistle and the "spirit summoning bell"!!!

Like rannis spirit has her left eye closed (i think that ghost is the actual ranni which is controlling the puppet), messmer has his left eye closed, malenias eyes are rotten out but that doesnt mean her left eye wasn't closed, and miquella most likely has his left eye closed just like melina, it just fits in my opinion.

A few notes that may be relevant to this theory: Miquella being Melina and the gloam-eyed queen would cement the double helix as Miquella's symbol. This symbol is present in a lot of godskin stuff (like the godslayer greatsword), as well as the Haligtree and Miquella's needle. If this is Miquella's symbol, it would tie him to Messmer's story as well. Messmer's crest is an impalement (the heraldic term) of two coat of arms, the flame (Messmer's flame) and a double helix ring. Melina's charred body may therefore have something to do with Messmer's flame, or Messmer burning the Erdtree in the past. If we look at the roundtable hold symbol, it has the same double helix ring around it as that on Messmer's crest. The land of shadow has definite ties to death. The Erdtree essentially replaces the process of death, perhaps bypassing the land of shadow's previous purpose (I believe there's an interview in which it is stated that Marika separated the realm of shadow from the lands between). I think that Melina (Miquella) wants to burn the Erdtree to be able to access the land of shadow again. She specifically says after talking to Enia about burning the Erdtree: "I know... I'm asking you to commit a cardinal sin. But it must be done to reach the path beyond. And that is the path I wish to travel." She also says "This world is in dire need of repair... and Death... indiscriminate...", and when she's burning she says that "The one who walks alongside flame, Shall one day meet the road of Destined Death." This also maybe relates to Miquella wanting Godwyn to "die a true death". He doesn't want him to be reborn by the Erdtree, he wants him to be able to die instead.

I gotchu, watch. Melina is Michella's anima/repressed female aspects. Messmer is his shadow/repressed and forgotten darker aspects. St Trina is his persona/social mask. It's all based on Jungian psychology my friend. I also think Ranni is another alter ego in some way, though I'm not sure how.

I was always under the impression that Melina was a supressed or sealed version of The Gloam Eyed Queen. Or in some way associated with The Gloam Eyed queen. But I guess this kinda makes more sense. I would also like to add another thing to your theory, that when Miquella was fusing himself with the Haligtree I believe that it was only Miquella who is being assimilated leaving Melina. But of course Mogh-lester had to butt in and ruin the ritual somehow, which led to Melina having full control of the body from that point on or maybe even have her own body, or be part spirit part physical? Either way, the ritual went wrong which lead to Miquella somehow ending up in the Shadow lands, his physical body being in Mogh's egg, and Melina bodyless just wandering the lands between.

Saint Trina's Torch and Melina's 'Lord of Frenzy Ending' appearance are an amazing example of this theory, which I heavily agree with. (schizos come one, come all) The marking on both of their faces is almost identical, especially with Melina's eye open. When opened, the marking is completely faded but the imprint is still there, kind of like a scar which looks much more like the mark on the torch. Also, with speculation of Melina (and of course with this theory, St. Trina as well) being the Gloam-Eyed Queen it would make sense to understand the definition of Gloam: "twilight, dusk" or "the time of day following sunset." This just lines up far too well with the heavy implication of St. Trina and their correlation with sleep.

We learn from the item description that she led the apostles and had command over them. So it makes common sense that she would probably have a deterrent to prevent them from overthrowing her- that being sleep. Another thing worthy of considering is that the Godslayer’s Greatsword has a twisted, winged motif a little less than halfway up the blade and on St. Trina’s Torch a similar design can be observed flowing from their eye. Also, the title Godslayer could be because she, the Gloam-eyed Queen, helped slaughter Godwyn the Golden and/or because she slew one of her physical forms (Miquella or St. Trina/The Gloam-eyed Queen) thus becoming Melina, who we can only assume is a spirit.

Godwyn, Morgott, Mohg Radahn, Ranni, Rykard Since Melina refers to Marika as mother, as does Mr. Impaler, we have to consider the possibility that one of these children is a single entity, and the other is part of another. The most logical conclusion is: Malenia, Miquella/Melina/St.Trina, Messy the Torso Decorator.
