I had one. He grew fast. I worked in a seafood restaurant outside of Baltimore md. The reason I mention this is because he liked eating crabs. "Cousin teddy" would tear them up. It's kind of funny. He was cool. But I lived a apt under my brothers house. His kids would want to play with him. They were fearless. It just seemed it was time to find him a new home. And I did.

A friend of mine had a nile monitor. Easily, it was over 5' and mean as hell! He used to feed it trout from his pond and ground burger. There's no way you could let it out of the cage, though. It was lightning quick and downright, vicious. He ended up giving it to a local zoo.

My male was a full 5ft by his 1st birthday. Anywhere from 2ft to 5ft is within the norm by their 1st birthday.Their growth rates vary so wildly.

@@itsbaileypets I'm definitely looking forward to it I also use the green carpet with my monitors it's easy to clean and hard for them to accidentally eat when they are eating I'm very impressed with your Nile and the enclosure you have maybe when I get mine I'll do a video I do a very basic setup for baby niles so it's easy to monitor them and it's easy to get them use to you I go by the same methods as NERD

Sucks man. 50 years from now losing limbs will be a thing of the past with the latest robotic tech. I skate all the time and all I ever think about is breaking my neck. They soon be able to fix that as well. Breaking my neck and blowing my teeth out are the 2 things constantly on my mind. But then I saw the NHL player and none of them have teeth from all the bare knuckle boxing on the ice so I suppose it aint such a big deal.

That Rudimental track Waiting All Night shows that BMX rider who lost his leg. He was riding his bike and a car changed lanes into him and sent him into the wall on the highway. That's why I tell people you should never coast next to cars!

I have just brought one today, He has a deformity in his hips and tail. Everything else is fine. The up side is he can run , but not fast, he can not tail whip His eyes are bright and lots of tongue action. He also shows no signs of aggression in anyway. I have an albino iguana with a similar condition and she a star!

I used food to get my Ornate Nile to accept me. Puppy Dog tame. Then he got 3 foot and I could see in his eyes he was calculating if he could take me. In a year he grew from leopard gecko size to four foot. Always Went for my face , the don't just bite. They're like Greyhound Dogs, they tear violently.
