How Fast Is A Tuned 1.9 TDI?

1.9 ALH TDI Diesel Golf MK4 stage 1 Malone tunewith a GTB1756VK turbo on stock fueling 1/8 mile drag strip run. We’re at the drag strip to get a baseline run in the TDI Golf with stock injectors to see what it runs before we install the .280’s! After .280’s and a proper tune, we should be making around 220whp!

dude swap the injectors and fuel pump. I had the same golf just with the stock turbo but swapped out 66kw pump for 81kw and same for injectors and it was crazy with my friends tune. Pulled like a train.

.280 injectors arrived today! The 10mm pump should work well a bit over 300whp or more, so we’re keeping it for now. This was a baseline run to see how much faster it is with the bigger injectors. Stay tuned!

Making me miss my Silver Golf Mk4 :( Over here in Ireland there's and abundance of these on the road! Seems you have the non-pd motor? As far as I'm aware the popular PD motors were ATD (PD100), ASZ (PD130) and ARL(PD150) , you have the ALH variant (Non-PD 90bhp) which is unfortunate as the PD engines are better for tuning capabilities. I had the ATD engine code, I swapped in a ARL turbo, ARL intake manifold, ARL injectors, front mount intercooler, EGR delete and stage 1 remap/tune and was pushing around 200bhp, could get more, but would've need to have done the headstuds. Sold the car last year and I miss it dearly 😭 Currently driving a Seat Exeo 2.0 CR TDI , stage 1 tuned/remapped to 185bhp. Subscribed to follow your guys journey! Best of luck

Thank you for the support! I don’t believe the states got any of the A series PD motors as the VE engines lasted till 2003. We got engines such as the BEW and BRM. TDI’s are surprisingly popular over here, but nowhere near as much as other countries. Stay tuned!

You could get the pd150 then all you need is front mount cam injectors bigger turbo a clutch and you can go past 300 bhp

Welcome to the channel! The highest output PD in the states made about 130hp and came in the RWD Passats. Sadly we never got any of the higher performance TDI’s over here. Our tuner is actually making about 320whp in his VE tdi with stock internals and lowered compression, so it’s definitely in the realm of possibility for this car! Stay tuned!

Golf 1.9 tdi 90 hp goes to 135hp and does 0-100 kmh in 8.2sec v max about 218 kmh

Hi guys. Love the content . Just want to know from what car can I swop my standard injector nozzles to bigger ones ? Tdi parts are pricey in South Africa. Would like to know from which car I can get bigger nozzles from? 😁

@@miraanhartzenberg842 I've heard of people swapping 2.5 inline 5 injectors from a volvo as s3bby513 said but really these injectors need to be balanced and pop tested when new nozzles are put on or you risk the potential of the car not running right.

@@miraanhartzenberg842 not entirely sure to be honest. Personally I would just buy some refurbished ones from a reputable company with bigger nozzles. That way you know they are good to go out of the box

Something is off my with stock turbo gos like 11.3

I believe it’s because of the turbo lag. The stock turbo was much snappier. We managed to get it into the 11.4s. This is a baseline before we install injectors. The car rips now with the .280’s, video coming soon!

You need a good remap.... Your engine is capable...

220 whp is a lot on a stock engine. I suggest you get rods and pistons since many have blown rings and bent pistons at that power level.

It is. Our tuner should be able to make the power come in later to keep the rods happy but if it does snap one, it’ll make for a good video!

It isn’t required at that power level from what I’ve seen, but it does help. If I try to bump the car further than 220 Ill definitely be doing a cam and some head work, and probably rods

There is a lot of turbo lag with the stock injectors/intake. Check out the most recent video! The injectors and intake made a huge difference
