I accidentally came across this channel. Honestly this is how it should be done. You are concise. I subscribed but I am a little mad. I have a ton of stuff to get done and you know I am going to be watching more videos instead. Lol

Why not watch the videos on a mobile device whilst you work on your car! Lol. Thanks for the kind words - I am just glad that people find these tips and pointers I've picked up along the way useful.

Do you have any expertise with Suzuki Alto 660cc Ha23v kei cars with K6A Engine? I have one similar car but it wont go more than 80km/h speed even after tuning. The engine and other stuff are O.K. Any suggestion for unleashing more power with the stock engine?

I was thinking about getting a new exhaust system on my car, from header down, as the original one is rusted through in a couple of spots anyway and a sports exhaust for a slight bump in power and a nicer engine note would be nice. And as a complete novice to car modding, how would I go about this? ie are there any places (in the UK) where you can go for a sports exhaust system? And where do I go to get said exhaust fitted? Under the assumption you can't just pop down do you're local kwikfit or something and say "hey, I have an exhaust I'd like fitted, can you do it?" Edit: If it's at all relevant I've got an '07 Volvo C30 with the 2.0L Duratec engine.

I find the local independents on your industrial estates very willing to help. They can often fabricate the parts needed to make an exhaust work with your desired back box be it a cherry bomb, or something bespoke for your car. Have a chat with your local garage or mechanics, they often are able to source higher performance exhausts from their suppliers so you won't be stuck in the "we can't fit it cos it's the wrong size" and "we can't take it back because someones tried to fit it wrongly" arguments. Don't expect much from just an exhaust upgrade other than a nicer engine note.

Is remapping useful for a non turbo car
@torquecars Жыл бұрын
It depends on the car, older cars generally have pretty poor setups and you can see around 7-10% more power and better mid range torque. Some like the VR5 for example are not much more powerful after a map but they do drive much better, the map improves the mid range and torque. On newer cars (post 2008) the manufacturers have set things up pretty well so it drops to around a 5-10% power gain after a map, but when you throw in other mods it changes things, and the map is often required to get the parts fully working together.

Whats the difference between ecu remap and dyno tuning?
@waynnesmith Жыл бұрын
Both are ECU remaps, but the dyno allows the tuner to see what is going on in the engine at each point in the RPM range, allowing much greater control over the tune and extracting the maximum. Most non dyno ecu remaps are a best guess and off the shelf so there is usually a bit of a compromise there. They are much cheaper and are usually about 80-90% of the potential of a dyno tune. If you've done other mods the only real way to set it up correctly is to tune it on a dyno again it would be a guess otherwise.

Are the ECU and PCM the same thing?
@torquecars2 жыл бұрын
Yes they are the same thing, manufacturers all give them different names for example MEMS DME ECU PCM - ECU is a more general terms for the Engine Control Unit or Engine Computer Unit. In some cars this just manages the engine, in others it also controls the transmission.

@@torquecars ok thanks! I’ve been looking at a Diablo tuner for my 2016 Dodge Charger, but 2015 and beyond, in the mopar products, they have a locked pcm, so diablo offers a pcm trade in. Just wanting to know if they are the same thing 👍
