He wouldn't be that much faster. His body wouldn't be able to run faster than the speed of light. If he does run at the speed of light, then his body would burn up into energy. Unlike the Flash, Quicksilver isn't tapping into an energy purer than light.

You forgot to add Einstein's general relativity to your calculations. Even moving just one-tenth the speed of light, time actually slows down (called Time Dilation). This gives Quicksilver the ability to "buy time" for himself by increasing his speed. Hence his nonchalant smirk while stopping to save the girl's fish, checking the toilet stalls, licking his hands and giving one boy a quick hairdo, stopping to cringe at the kissing boy, drinking some Tab Cola and polishing off a pizza before saving the dog (when I laughed the hardest btw). So it's not just how fast Quicksilver runs, but how intuitively he is able to slow time and manipulate it to his advantage! ;)

Yep, anything in physics that would be a problem for you would just not matter cuz he bends reality around him and can independently bend reality of other things around him too. He doesn’t have to slow down to seem normal, he just bends relativity so that he is perceived as normal or vice versa. His powers as shown in these movies really just says he bends physics, which is like the non lazy way of explaining it while still making sense. No speed force necessary, his real power is just being a god.

Being able to move at a tenth of the speed of light, he experiences a certain amount of time dilation, which could possibly explain how he doesn't age much. Of course one would have to do an explicit calculation to check if this is plausible.

Ok, I did a quick calculation, and the time dilation effect when moving at a tenth of the speed of light isn't much, so the only explanation for how quicksilver looks only two years older after 10 years have passed is that he's able to move much faster than shown in the movie. In order for two years to be dilated to 10 years, one would need to be constantly moving at 98/100 of the speed of light.

Feel like quicksilver's power is time control rather than super speed. If you're in a very fast car, you're just gonna see blurs of your surrounding. The scenes with Quicksilver are indeed truly amazing, but as you said I am also surprised by how overpowered he is. In a realistic scenario (if you exclude the fact that a human running at that speed would obliterate everything he ran past) he's unstoppable. This guy can literally annihilate the entire X-Men before they can react. So, to sum it up, his power makes amazing scenes but it's terrible for the plot.

I think he isn't actually physically that fast, seems to me that a lot of the things he does don't violate pure physics because perhaps part of his speed is due to a control of time itself for him and the things he touches and has touched for a very short time. So I can see how Stryker would have been able to get the drop on him, he has to kick his powers in fully to get the faster pseudo-time-reflexes.

Yea actually, if you ve seen a vid with camera at 1 million fps showing light itself moving he says at some point that if we had a bullet run across the camera screen at a million fps it would take the bullet 2 fucking years to do that exact thing, and he said quicksilver was moving at a tenth of light speed, yes explosion is faster than bullets and w/e all the points you have on this you might want to think a bit about this video's stupid math, time to drop some dislikes boys

He ran in and out of the mansion multiple times starting with the lowest possible level then moving up, he easily ran a few miles doing those multiple trips in and out of the mansion and that's only to the deepest level and the foyer combined not including the various other parts, I think you seriously underestimate how much would have been involved and I just noticed you said km not m the truth is though we don't know how far down the lower levels really are or how he'd have gained access for instance one way may have involved a lot more distance to cover than another

Everyone's skin should have melted, bones should have broken, clothes should have disintegrated and incinerated (especially his own), and much more. It doesn't really make sense that he could slow down while throwing them because since he is fighting against an explosion he can only slow down so much if he wants to get them all out. Even if he did they would not be able to handle it (To them he is not slowing down but tossing them at super speed). So he would have to throw them at a speed that would kill them.

+XxPressLeadXx Because the movie producers didn't take into account the exact speed so you could get sometimes he's going twice the speed of sound and other times he's going twice the speed of light. Also he's using weird incosistent measurements like bee flaps. He's assuming that's the worlds most average bee and it stays flapping at that speed through the entire sequence. Maybe it is, but we just don't know that.

Yeah, I've always thought that if anyone is traveling that fast and they touch anyone, even if it's to move them...that person would be dead instantly. That is...unless he has a way of "sharing" this "time and space" with those he touches so as to not hurt them. Also, yeah...when striker landed and shot that gun thing...he should have been able to stop that without any problems.

Yeah, the movie is jam packed full of deal breaking plot holes and broken physics. He has to be warping space and time. It just visually manifests as speed. Sidenote: Deal breaking plot hole: Why force Xavier to send the planet message? Why not just do the pyramid build, body swap, and then do it yourself? End of movie because he'd have owned Xavier before heroes even figured out where he was. (there are MANY others)

I think he could have altered the speed at which he moved while in contact with the students... or possibly he might have the power to make chronal fields rather than super spead meaning he can make a field, typically around his body in which a parameter for the dimension of time is altered that he can posibly subconsciously extend to things within a certain range (explaining how he can listen to music and not spontaneously combust from the air friction) that he may be able to apply to humans he touches if he chooses to do so but is unable to help their brains jumpstart to a time mode where they could utilise it making them just stand there blissfully unavare of anything going on

Tbirdmang16 thats untrue if the light source is behind him. If the light source is before him i agree. But if the light source is behind him thats a different story. If he runs faster than the speed of light then in my theory he would run out of our physical realm or at the least out of our ability to perceive. Im not a huge follower of comic books. So i could be wrong but i thought these guys (quicksilver and flash) could run faster than the speed of light. Could you correct me on that if im wrong.

Light was already there in the first place. In theory, no one could actually outrun light to run into darkness itself. That's not how "faster than light speed" works. Light is already everywhere. The light you emit when you turned on a flashlight in the middle of the night in the woods 10 years ago would probably still be traveling the universe.

I think of quick silver as a guy who isn't so much fast, as... working on a time-stop power, but isn't all the way there yet. But I LOVED this scene in Apocalypse, where... even though he can't yet stop time, he's confident that he can slow it down enough to take on an explosion... cracking his knuckles at the start, and then just working through it, one room at a time.
