What other animals do you want me to cover in this series? Next I'm thinking about maybe bees, cows, or horses
@jeanherndon453620 күн бұрын
I would love to know how cows and horses see us. Here in Fort Worth Texas we are all about the old west. From 2024/10/29 looking way back to 1899. In 1999 the fort worth herd started a new herd of longhorns right downtown in historic stockyards. Imagine what the cows see as they are greeted by throngs of spectators along the way.

@jeanherndon4536 I made one of these videos about horses! And that's one of my favorite ones from this series Good call about cows though, I'll look into that

Some humans (12% of females) have tetrachromacy, giving them red, blue, green, and yellow cone receptors.

Only women have that since it’s a recessive x-linked gene

If you want to swat a fly by hand, point your index finger and begin spinning it around the fly, they don’t know where to go or become mesmerised. As you spin your finger, move closer and closer and when you get in range, swat it with your hand.

If we only saw 60hz then why make 240hz screens and flies are definitely faster than 250hz where did you get your info from cause i see way more than 60

we don't perceive the world at 60 Hz xd
@Vision-Vibes3 ай бұрын
Most sources I see state that our eyes pick up the world between 30 - 60 Hz
@htmlpent3 ай бұрын
@@Vision-Vibes The "60 Hz perception" is more about practical limitations of technology and what is commonly comfortable for viewing, rather than a strict biological limit. Human vision is capable of detecting changes at higher rates, which is why higher refresh rates (like 120 Hz or even 240 Hz) are noticeable and can enhance the viewing experience.
@DoomFinger5112 ай бұрын
@@Vision-Vibes The sources comparing our eyes to Hz is in relation to our technology. A human eye can perceive slight changes as high as 500Hz _(especially when our adrenaline is flowing)_ . Biologically, the rate of perception is measured by a combination of factors such as Critical Flicker Fusion Frequency _(which is where you will read Hz being used)_ , Electrophysiological Methods _(which measure an eyes electrical signal rate and strength of eye neurons)_ , Saccadic Eye Movements _(how fast an eye can twitch to focus on an object)_ , and several other techniques.

Thank you! Scientists have learned how flies see the world through examining the anatomy of their eyes, recording the electrical activity in their tiny brains, and even conducting tests to see how flies react to different images shown on screens

Their brains just process things quickly. They see things in real-time, but they just understand what is happening and can react faster than us

@@Vision-Vibes so why you said in video that they see everything slow
@Vision-VibesАй бұрын
@xavier00129 the ability to perceive things quickly means that you have slow motion vision. If we suddenly could perceive the world like flies, it would be like everything was in slo-mo

@Vision-Vibes4 ай бұрын
They can't tell the difference between yellow and white because of their limited color vision. So while this could make it hard to distinguish yellow and white objects, it's not like white objects are invisible to them
