WoOw! Thanks for making these series! They are very helpful in understanding the B777 flight control system! I am really happy that I can learn from these with the addition of FCOM and CBT too. Thanks!

I feel this video got something very incorrect about the B777. When trimming the B777 you’re not trimming for attitude like a regular aircraft. You’re actually trimming for speed because of the FBW system.
@tristanschultz76779 ай бұрын
Why would the FBW system change the purpose of the trim?
@ARandom7777 ай бұрын
@@tristanschultz7677 The purpose was to decrease the need to manually trim and to increase airspeed awareness according to a few pilots who fly the 777 and 787. It's basically middle ground btwn constant manual trim and autotrim (Airbus FBW).

Great ! This animation is wonderful. It allows for much better learning than reading the FCOM. The other videos are also excellent. Congratulations on the work.

Any idea how many tons of force horizontal stabilizers provide to pitch up or down with trimming. Why only the elevators are not enough to provide that much force.
@AircraftScience2 жыл бұрын
I don't know the force value, but in the pitch control chapter of the series I will explain the application of the stabilizer and the elevator.

@@antonyreyesmorales3530 yes. The first airplane to have Fly by wire system from Boeing is the Boeing 777.

First plane flight by wire was the 757 and 767 Spoiler systems ! Let’s get that right
@Lolo_Freight_DogАй бұрын
All that was stated, which is correct, is that the 777 was the first aircraft to be ENTIRELY FBW. Let's get that right.

Wait. How does the pilot has full control authority in any fly by wire system? Fly by wire by default means the pilot inputs are captured electronically to a computer. The computer then operates the control surfaces throught electric or hydraulic systems. Where does the pilot has any authority in this?
@ARandom777 Жыл бұрын
They mean override light envelope protections mate. Boeing allows this as the protections are soft limits. Most other FBW aircraft use hard limits where the pilots can't override them.
