The film’s tone-and that glorious Apollo 11 lift off sequence-is what I liked most about the movie. And as you said, a great unifying message of what we as a nation can positively do, instead of outrageous foreign funding, conflicts, and policing of the world.

Outstanding I just saw it in my towns vintage theatre I literally went back to 1960 tonight and had my makeup done in style. And don’t u love how little marketing it had? I only heard of it today. The theatre was full of joy and laughter. I’d say the second half was the best and it reminded me of Oppenheimer sometimes loved the lift off scenes. I really liked the ideas as well. I was in a small theatre and it was still incredible.

It’s not going to happen in 2025. They still don’t even know how many cryogenic refueling flights are needed for the orbiter. In fact we have yet to perform a successful cryogenic refueling. ( the last estimate I saw was up to 18) I hope we end up going but it’s not going to be next year. I have some serious concerns about the way academic and engineering culture is contradictory to mission success. Destin has expressed these concerns much better than I can. But I have seen these things every day in my professional life. m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/haCtpIOsoqucrrc

I came to this video - but more accurately, came to search all KZbin - for a fact-check of this movie or more generally just a list of what was based on history (roughly or not) and what was created to make the movie work. But I still haven’t found that list and now I have to keep looking. Wish me luck! I’m not sure why the title is “DESTROYED Hollywood” - did the script of this video explain?

“The radiation belts of the Earth do, indeed, pose important constraints on the safety of human space flight. The very energetic (tens to hundreds of MeV) protons in the inner radiation belt are the most dangerous and most difficult to shield against. Specifically, prolonged flights (i.e., ones of many months’ duration) of humans or other animals in orbits about the Earth must be conducted at altitudes less than about 250 miles in order to avoid significant radiation exposure. A person in the cabin of a space shuttle in a circular equatorial orbit in the most intense region of the inner radiation belt, at an altitude of about 1000 miles, would be subjected to a fatal dosage of radiation in about one week. However, the outbound and inbound trajectories of the Apollo spacecraft cut through the outer portions of the inner belt and because of their high speed spent only about 15 minutes in traversing the region and less than 2 hours in traversing the much less penetrating radiation in the outer radiation belt. The resulting radiation exposure for the round trip was less than 1% of a fatal dosage - a very minor risk among the far greater other risks of such flights. I made such estimates in the early 1960s and so informed NASA engineers who were planning the Apollo flights. These estimates are still reliable.” - James Van Allen

One thing that bothered me was the claim that you couldnt tell the difference between a moon landing and a contemporary production of a moon landing. The technology wasnt there. Sure they could build an identicle set but the lighting/shadows and movement of people wouldnt match. You would see the strings and the footage would all have to be shot live.

Do you honestly believe the story? I used to be a big Hollywood movie fan but the tricks they pull in the movie feel old. Maybe it's me but they just feel old. Maverick is an ok popcorn movie and that's that. They are well made for sure and I respect the effort cast put into them. But they feel relatively good only because others are too awful. If you dislike the 2016+ Hollywood I'd say this movie and maverick are exactly the demonstration of the root problem. There's less and less creativity. I have strong feeling within a decade the moonshot will prove a fake and this movie will be a huge irony by then.

Nothing about the Moon Landing is fake. The supposed whistleblower who worked for NASA and was the literal grandfather of the whole conspiracy, and actually wrote the book on the moon landing hoax, was a complete fraud. Everything you can think of when it comes to the moon landing hoax came from one man, Bill Kaysing. the only thing fake about all of this was him. He never worked directly for NASA, or had direct ties with Washington DC like he claims, rather he was a technical writer for Rocketdyne, (the manufacturer of the Saturn V’s F-1 engine) and guess what he dropped out of the job before the Apollo Program really started in 1963 and moved to California with his family. Doesn’t that sound a bit fishy? I mean for gods sake in the book he wrote “We Never Went to The Moon.”, in one part he says the astronauts were found at a strip club in Vegas and were bribed with fucking cheese sandwiches. Then in later releases removed that ‘detail’. How does anyone look at that say, “Yeah this dudes onto something, I should totally take this guy 100% seriously.”

I enjoyed your video very much, I'd never heard of this movie. However, I must admit I wouldn't subscribe due to your Trump bashing. The ideals you trumpet in your review, particularly that of Patriotism, are, to me, what Trump embodies. I've never been more proud of an election than I was this past November 🇺🇲

11:59 if our leaders sounded less like this (Trump clip) Of note, I have JFK magnets on the back of my Cadillac. I, too, am an older Millennial, not old enough to have been alive for the moon landings or JFK's Presidency, but old enough to appreciate our King during Camelot. I think Trump, despite his loud orange man moments, is a phenomenal President too, and I'm counting the days until he's back in Power and the Sentient Liver Spot we currently have in office is sent out to pasture. I believe he loves this great country and I believe he is the man for the job to turn this ship around!! You're very good looking, and I like that you are a SciFi aficienados, so now that I am done defending Trump I am going to subscribe 🙂

11:59 if only our Presidents sounded less like this (Trump clip) I actually love JFK, he is my favorite President of all time, I even have magnets of him on the back of my Cadillac. I'm an older Millennial, too, who missed out on the moon landing and on JFK as our King of Camelot. I know Trump can be a loud orange man, but I feel he truly loves America and I emphatically support him. I want the Sentient Liver Spot currently in office OUT of office! 10 more days, 10 more days, 10 more days ... You're good looking and I like you're a SciFi aficionados, so I subscribed 🙂
