I been working in Logistics for 9 years. Everything I do in my day-to-day operations is exactly what a freight broker does except that I'm not considered a freight broker per say. I'm a Logistics coordinator for pharmaceuticals. What I do however, is different in that I don't go looking for shippers as the shippers are already established with the company. I basically coordinate the shipments and dispatch the drivers, which by the way are also contracted with the company. With this experience I was able to start my Freight broker company in October of 2020. I'm allowing my authority to sit and mature for a year before I get to action. I must say, Brandon's videos are an additional leverage for what I believe will be a smooth take off. See you at the top Brandon!

Your authority will need some sort of track record of credit to check by carriers and factoring companies. Just letting it sit for a year IS great and all but once they pull your credit it will show no loads moved under that MC.

that gatekeep you either have to wear down respectfully...like how a guy wears a girl down at the bar when he's trying to take her home...or you can just assume your decision-maker is waiting for you...tell the gatekeep Mr. XYZ is waiting for my call...or Mr.XYZ called me and was asking about my service...or include the gatekeeper in the pitch...Gatekeeper how can we help Mr.XYZ business better

The only question I have is hard to get customers in your first 90 days or more of your authority? I think its time to get more from our investments also.so lets raise the diesel cost 2% per gallon.per month.hell lets just hold out for $10 a gallon,$20 a gallon.They will have to pay whatever the price is or sit.If there is all this money on the table here for brokers,us fuelers will take our share off that table.

How would you handle if the shippers sends out the wrong pick-up address twice, then of course the trucker is upset and says he is not taking that load, I felt I had no other choice but to give it back, because the shipper gave wrong address twice. some shippers can hurt your business as well.

Mindset is everything in this business. All businesses start with one customer but NEVER get complacent and just cruise. I prefer to have 20 customers that give me $10k a month than having 5 customers giving me the same $10k. The reason: as a freight broker you WILL LOSE customers - if you have only 5 customers and you lose 1.....that hurts your wallet big time.

I think it's important to do your due diligence on any program...check it out..if it doesn't seem right for you..keep looking...at the end of the day a program is the trainer's personal experience..the question is what is the trainer's experience???.study to find out..lastly success in my humble opinion is NOT determined by the teacher but by the STUDENT! Banging my head against the wall!!! Finding a shipper is easy, if you call and email enough someone will respond and they usually will respond with a list of loads with rates already on them which typically tend to be really cheap rates that are below the market average. These loads will almost never get covered and the customers will keep rolling them over 🙄. The key to brokering I guess is to find shippers that will pay the rate you quote them no questions asked lol
