It's been a minute since I worked inside. Brokered a lot of freight. Dispatched a bunch of trucks. Here's the thing, if you ask the right questions, and a broker is honest, you will have all the information you need. DAT used to have a credit check option so you could see what a broker is about. 40 thousand service is fine.

I can remember when you started.We talked about which way to go. Company, Owner. lease. Sure glad I chose company. 33 years out there and never knew what a broker was! Never waited long at a pick up or drop as company had that straight as I slept at home. If it went wrong I was on the clock any way. No truck payment or maintenance to worry about. Hung it up in 06 and still miss it but the checks have been coming each month. Trucking can be great. I knew one day the spikes would cause a "chargeable". Love your videos and do hope you stay in the game but we all must do what is best for our selves.🦇

I too have been seeing a bit of W. Express up north lately. I stepped away from the road to do local while the loads pay so low. Good to see your truck still lookin good. I'm at about 70k with my 23 VNL, No major issues other than the hvac being temperamental.

In my 14yrs 10yrs on my own i never been screwed by a broker. But I only work within a certain few , similar customers and know how to actually communicate. Plus a few brokers i never would touch . I use the technology and groups to know who and what to avoid.

Why don't you do OTR for week or two now and then, so as to visit new places while trucking and avoid dead weights to pickup load every time going to GA /SC /NC from FL.

truck load broker school is all over the country you should go to broker school become your own load broker most of independent truckers they are their own broker we have lot's of broker in California they speak Spanish and Ukranian and little English flat bed pays higher some flat bed load pays over 3 dollars per miles i know some drivers don't like flat bed tarping loading and unloading but still pays more then other fright even more then frozen or produce load

A few years ago my cousin had a broker that screwed him over one too many times so he tracked the broker down and paid him a personal visit and made him hurt. The absolute most dangerous thing on the road hands down is an Asian, my brother was a tow truck driver in the Hacienda Heights and Rowland Heights area of Southern California and he would tell me about all the single vehicle collisions in sunny clear dry weather and the cars were just wiped out.
