Let's imagine a "not drawn" scenario, since there's a lot of possibles interpretations of the Stands Powers and their concepts inside JoJo universe: WoU Wins scenario: - Calamity just rule above Causality, or in the case or GER "Fate" is bellow Calamity in the scale of concepts in JoJo universe (Gravity, Fate, Calamity and Miracles). So when Bad Luck effect happen, it bypass the GER skill like Go Beyond bypass Calamity, and Giorno is killed no matter what because WoU is a concept that rules above Fate. Fate < Calamity (Scenario) GER Wins: Since GER would cancel every bad luck that happens in his way, he would get closer and closer to Tooru, until he is at "fist barrage" range. Since WoU power is to inflict bad luck in others to protect Tooru, but can't directly give Good Luck to Tooru, Giorno just have to push Tooru in traffic or something alike, but the WoU stand would still be alive in the end and he just run away because he can't win this fight anyway. This is considering as Fate and Calamity are just diferent sides of the same coin. Respectfully, I choose option 4: skip the scaling and interpretations and use the actual abilities. GER's RTZ ability is an automatic defensive ability that is described by the stand stats page to return an "attacker's" "strength/attacks/willpower" to zero. (Even if you look up multiple translations of the same page they will all specify an 'attacker' or 'opponent' and their attacks, actions, or intent to attack.) This means that in the context of this fight, RTZ will always nullify anything that attacks it, but anything that can kill or harm Giorno without meeting the triggers of the ability will simply not trigger the effect. AKA if Giorno gets into a freak car accident or gets a disease, since there is no attacker or action to reset. This makes sense, since we see RTZ only taking effect in the Diavolo fight after Diavolo launches a punch at Giorno, even though his previous actions of activating Time Erase and throwing blood in Giorno and GER's eyes did not cause RTZ. We don't see GER manually use the ability nor do we see it activate on anything other than a direct attack. This means that any stand that has any kind of manual component will almost definitely lose to GER. However, it means stands that can achieve a win condition without meeting the requirements to trigger RTZ can win. Enter Wonder Of U. Wonder Of U's ability to invoke Calamity on pursuers is a passive one that is not controlled by the stand nor the user. Even still, it has a broader activation condition than RTZ and can actually kill its opponent in the process of defending. Calamity is not an 'attack,' it doesn't have an 'attacker' nor an 'intent.' It is a law of the universe that is invoked upon the pursuer regardless of the stand or user's will and neither perform any actions to trigger the effect on an opponent. You see where this is going, right? It doesn't matter if RTZ or Calamity are stronger, because *Calamity cannot trigger RTZ in the first place.* Giorno would effectively be facing a docile Wonder Of U with nothing but his base GE powers + his beam attack. Best Case Scenario: He survives via healing and running away. Anything less and it's a brutal thrashing. Some other stands that can achieve a win condition against Giorno by virtue of their stands not attacking: - Heavy Weather (user doesn't activate and can't even deactivate) - Made In Heaven (literally canon that RTZ didn't activate on universe reset) - Superfly (leaving the pylon with Giorno inside isn't really an attack) etc

There are 3 keys that some people need to know to be able to understand how the fight will *actually* flows: Giorno can't make a move during RTZ, RTZ is a passive ability, and even just the intent will make WoU activate (you don't even need to launch an attack just to make WoU activate). What this means is that the moment Giorno wants to do shit to WoU or Toru, WoU will activate and bestow a calamity towards Giorno. Giorno RTZ then activate and "cancel" out the calamity. However, again, he can't move during RTZ so he's still going to be at the same place, he couldn't advance nor retreat during RTZ. After RTZ's done, the moment Giorno wants to beat the shit out of Toru, the same cycle happens again. It's an infinite stalemate loops where none of them would win nor lose.

It only should activate if Giorno is in harm via a wilful intention to attack and harm Giorno by somebody, just like WoU activates if Tooru is pursued etc., both are automatic since that's how automatic Stands work. 攻撃してくる相手の動作や意志の力を全てゼロに戻してしまう. - 攻撃 means attack - 攻撃してくる相手の動作や意志の力 means "the movements and (among other things included) willpower of the opponent who is doing and coming with an attack/attacking". GER simply has no other feats, so this is all we canonically have. Everything else is pure headcanon. GER works only against direct attacks and will to harm Giorno via them, WoU is nothing of that, just like Made in Heaven (for which GER didn't activate). Calamity and WoU isn't a wilful attack aimed at Giorno, it's simply nature itself, a falling rock etc. doesn't have a will to harm Giorno, it just falls and Giorno happens to be hit by it by nature of gravity and of calamity, calamity is simply logic, it's not an attack of any kind. And we know this is the case because GER didn't do anything with Made in Heaven. Why? Because Made in Heaven wasn't an attack, it was simply an effect of speeding the time of inorganic matter and time itself so much as to create a new universe. This is why GER didn't revert it, because it wasn't an attack that would harm Giorno, if a falling rubble fell on Giorno during it as a side-effect, I doubt GER would work, since as per its original Japanese description it shouldn't work and just "revert it". Rubble has no will nor intention to attack or harm or do anything... it is just a nature that happens and simply falls on you with no ill intention, just you having bad luck. It would be Giorno who causes his own death technically since he's standing where the rubble would fall on him. This is just nature of calamity, WoU doesn't control it or anything, it just makes you have that bad luck that makes it so the universe/nature itself just happens to kill you by you standing at the wrong place at the wrong time, nothing to do with attacking or will. Would GER activate if Giorno slipped and landed on a knife, hurting himself or him eating something and feeling ill or him falling and breaking his neck by sheer bad luck(even without WoU)? Of course not, there was no wilful attack by somebody that made this happen, well, Giorno's clumsiness did I guess... but that's not an attack against himself or anything. This means that WoU would win every time if Giorno pursued Tooru/it. GER, just like Heaven's Door (and King Crimson ofc) is very misunderstood in the community.

If we want to be fair, Wonder of U is just King Crimson but the stand fights for you and you control the bad fates instead of avoiding them. So GER is very much built around countering it.

@@bananabanana484 wou is independent of what tooru thinks and activates automatically if someone tries getting close to him and ger can't cancel your ability he just stops you from using it so ger wouldnt be able to effect calamity since its not formed by any thoughts of tooru, if anything ger would try to stop giorno from pursuing tooru so that calamity doesnt activate but thats just me yapping

I feel like technically Ger would continuously stop the objects from hitting while progressively getting closer. so eventually Wou would be reached? Wou only forces the opponent to stop if the attack "knocks" into them. so while an attack striking GER would cause heavy damage (like you know, turning a raindrop into an unstoppable projectile or the fact that originally Diavolo was gonna successfully kill GER with just a punch) it would technically never "land" either
