Bermuda is usually used all over the course but a type of Bentgrass is used on the green. It doesn't go dormant in the winter like most grass. It still grows and needs to be cut all year but not so much compared to hot days.

You don't realize that grass converts CO2 to usable oxygen while capturing carbon emissions. It also helps to reduce temperatures. Water is not destroyed when put onto plants. Some is sent back to the atmosphere while the rest is filtered by the ground and returns to the water table or in the case of most golf greens it is collected by drainage and diverted to ponds to water with again.

He didn’t get the grain of the plug turned properly with the overall grain in the green. 20 demerits! I have years of golf course maintenances experience and always took the time to ensure I got the grass grain back in properly. If not, a putt can be moved off track as it slows down toward the hole for a miss when it would have otherwise dropped. Grain affects direction of roll. It matters!
