This is why it's so impressive that Archie Manning have both of his sons making it to the NFL and both are 2 times SB champs whereas their dad never sniffed an NFC championship game.
@adefay2811
@adefay2811 Жыл бұрын
Archie instilled the love of football into his sons at an early age. What matters the most is they were gifted physically both being over 6’2 and Peyton being 6’4 especially when you compare them to Montana’s sons. Same thing happened to Micheal Jordan’s son they weren’t gifted physically with MJ’s genes. Archie basically groomed them to be Qb’s using his knowledge of the position and the game. He also prepared them to be men outside of football and squashed any off the field crap they got into. Archie also built the manning QB camp which almost every QB in the NFL attended From drew brees to cam Newton. The next generation of Manning is going to Texas and will more than likely be the 1st overall selection if not a 1st rounder for sure.

Anyone who watched Joe Montana in college would have recognized that he had the "it" factor. I'm not sure that can be defined but you knew, game after game that he was destined for great things. He was great. That's a pretty high bar set for his kids but kudos for them giving it their best shot.

This really puts into perspective how damned hard it is to just make it into the NFL. With a pedigree like this as your last name and all the resources available they didn't have what it takes. It's a unique combination of drive, talent, work ethic and some luck to say the least. Respect to their efforts regardless and to those who play for the love of the game. @@brenthall9629 so reaching 4 SuperBowls is better than 9? I actually agree that Montana was better. He was more mobile and the game was way more physical as QBs weren't protected like they are today. But that SuperBowl argument is awful. Nick going to Tulane is nothing to overlook. And the way he killed it at the Texas JC is a pretty big deal all things considered. Pretty high level of play. It’s not the SEC, yeah. When your father is one of greatest ever, like Joe Montana or Mohammad Ali or Bjorn Borg... that's super hard to live up to that same level of accomplishment! When the expectations are not met, there can be frustration and disappointment. In a situation like that, nobody should try to be equal to their father. One must be the best that one can be, because there will never be another person like ones self ever again in human history! If one tries to be equal to their father, there will always be disappointment because then one is trying to copy another person... rather than to be ones self.

The only FACT highlighted here is that it takes HARD WORK and Dedication to your craft but also a natural talent that neither one actually possessed. Only thing working IN their favor was a Pedigree that fell short. Simple Really. Even Phil Simms son did not really make it in the NFL but he DID make it there. neither of these 2 did.
