Congratulations on a good score, especially brewing under pressure in more ways than one !!

Great vid tricky. As you said SJ for the comp under pressure but was lagered for nearly 4 months! So Super clear. It definitely works

Awesome work on the score! An absolutely fantastic looking head on that beer!

Yes - pressure works! 😀 Your conclusion fits my humble experience after 3 lagers in a allrounder. Lagering still needed but fermentation is easier.And a nice score! 👍
@thomash37162 жыл бұрын
At what temperature did you ferment?
@DudesBrews2 жыл бұрын
started at about 14 I think but ramped it up quite quickly so was at 20 within 5-6 days

@@DudesBrews That is what i have done as well - it works! 😀 No pressure to start with and then whilst ramping temp i also turned pressure up...

Nice Richard. Congrats! Mid 30s and up is nothing to be sneezed at! Appreciate the humility and honesty in you talking about your beer in comps. Cheers

Great video. I've done a pressure fermented pilsner styles, but with Kveik ale yeast, never true lager yeasts so I'll try that. Also massive kudos for the Blackened Sun glass? How did you come by that? Tiny brewery next door to me run by a great team.
@DudesBrews2 жыл бұрын
I’m over in Bedford so have popped over to the brewery a couple of times, got the glass when Gary was crowdfunding for the tap room. 34/70 or its liquid equivalents and this yeast seem to work particularly well under pressure 👍🏻
@richardwilkinson772 жыл бұрын
My issue at the moment is I don't have a fermentation fridge so can't go any lower than about 20C. You think that these yeasts will do ok at that temp?
@DudesBrews2 жыл бұрын
34/70 will definitely work at that temp, I'd be a bit wary about other yeasts without testing them but I know that particular strain is very temperature tolerant even without pressure fermentation

Good job guys. I just picked up some L17 and was searching for pressure ferment with it and behold, you popped into my subscipton box. Perfect timing. I may have missed it but at what pressure and temp did you ferment? Cheers
@DudesBrews2 жыл бұрын
I started at about 14c and ramped the temp up fairly quickly over the next 6 days to 18c and a final d-rest just in case at 20 for a couple of days after FG, set the spunding valve to 15psi and let the pressure build naturally once the yeast got going. Hope that helps cheers

But is it better than Owen's? 🤫
@danielpeary81462 жыл бұрын
I have one question about pressure fermentation. Do U set it at pressure straight after pitching the yeast by injecting co2? And do you pitch the yeast into wort at your target fermentation temp, say 18 degrees?
@TedeTVs2 жыл бұрын
@@danielpeary8146 Are you asking me or Tricky? Seems like you replied on my comment. Cheers
@DudesBrews2 жыл бұрын
I let the pressure build naturally but set the spunding valve in advance if that makes sense, I pitch at target temp or just below
