I love using the vp215 for sniper challenges/leveling, cheap gun plus suppressor and the mags are small so I just keep a stack of ap in my container and keep reloading 2-3 mags in my rig and not lose all that expensive ammo if I die

You can do that with everything tho. ADAR and both types of AK are dirt cheap in basic configuration. Then 7.62 BP or 5.45 BS produce better results. Particularly a one shot vs altyn is super valuable. 366 is only worth something because its cheaper, but it takes a bit to unlock IIRC.

But here some visual evidence, of course ranges matter, but 24 feet like in this video are some "tarkov factory like distances". Nice testing thanks! Good to know about the helmet/faceshields too, been wondering about them. Of cause the amazing thing about EKO (& Geksa & FMJ) is the incredible low price & so its a real gem for non-pvp rat work. The AP round is the "go to" pvp round of cause but the price is certainly also up there too.

Trouble with 366 AP is the guns not the ammo, even an absolute pimp Vepr is still semi auto with high recoil. Compared to a decent HK/M4 even with bad ammo it's in a different league.

I agree, in my own testing, an ~85k fairly modded ADAR has less recoil, is more moddable, and only takes 1 less bullet to kill with 855A1 when compared to a similarly modded, similarly priced AK 209 with .336 ammo. You hit the nail on the head, AP .366 isn't the problem, it's the guns that shoot it.

The point of the .366 AP is that it belongs to the very small group of ammo in Tarkov that have the potential to oneshot you in the thorax, where people are much more easy to hit than in the head obviously. Landing 2 shots to kill someone compared to 1 is more than twice as hard, especially if you are sniping people. With such good onetap potential the recoil argument is also kind of moot. I mean bolt-action snipers have ridiculous recoil, but saying that would be missing their point. I'm not saying the HK / M4 is not better overall, but their advantage is not as significant, especially at range and if money is a consideration. The general truth still stands: bring the gun that suits the situation and map you are going for.

@ This would be a reasonable argument if it actually one tapped, but given the findings of this video and my own experience, it doesn't. The only people this ammo is one tapping are scavs, basically every player is using class 4 or better so it's 2 tap minimum. At that point you are left trying to land a second shot to the chest with a semi auto rifle with extremely high initial recoil climb, while absorbing 5-6 shots of 5.56. OR having to go for headshots if using it in a sniper role, which is no better than using LPZ or M80 which shoot from better guns and have much better long range ballistics. I think it will be very powerful after a wipe when the armour you see is much lower but other than that it's only really good as a budget sniper round if you want to run a super cheap loadout.

@@ImBarryScottCSS I would have liked to see more testing against class 4 armors with the .366 AP, because in my experience, and according to the official Ballistics wiki page as well, in an overwhelming amount of cases it is in fact a 1 shot against class 4 armors. It's worth noting that even ammo with the best penetration has a chance to be stopped by any armor, even class 1, at least if I remember correctly how the damage system works in Tarkov. Still, it is true that with the addition of the Korund at its low price, people will be running class 5 armors much more than before, so the AP will surely lose its effectiveness more quickly now than in previous wipes.

0:55 It's worth noting that FMJ has a 25% chance to fragment and high enough pen to be exempt from the glitch, and likely did fragment a few times during the test. It's possible it could take an extra shot to take someone down. Also, Geksa's only 5 shots to kill if you hit one leg, if you're hitting both it's 6.

I used Vpo215 with 366TKM AP for shooter born in heaven, its 65k for a silenced vpo215 with a tac30 scope and ammunition. Super cheap. Yes the AP rounds are inconsistent at over 120 meters but once you learn the drop you dont need to zero it anymore and it becomes a long range killer.

@@ChrisMisMYhandle under 150 meters its only bullet drop after that your going to have a hard time headshotting. Accuracy values dont really apply in Tarkov as practically all fights are within 100 meters. Bullets like m995 and m61/m993 do perform waaaay better though.

This video proves a saying I've had for a while now. Take the armor class the ammo claims to pen, and a treat it like 1 class lower. 42 pen should 1-tap class 4, but it didn't. So many have complained about 762x54R LPS and 762x51 M80 supposedly being 1-tap rounds and that the ammo/guns needed to be nerfed. The Mosin and Vepr Hunter specifically. Well, after showing the rounds NOT 1-tapping, people need to shut the fuck up about it. Especially after the 80 to 85 buff in the torso.

I believe you're working on a 7.62x39 video. I would like to know how soon you would have it up. I've been told BP is the best ammo and with 2 tap up to level 5 armor. I've not experienced this I've 2 tapped zero armor but shot someone 3 times and it looked like they were running level 5 and still didn't drop them.

IMO .366 AP is a little overkill for scavs. Statistically AP is (almost) a clone of M855A1, and they are both relatively pricey IF you are just scav hunting compared to something like M855 or 7.62 PS. That being said it's nice having the peace of mind that you can take out fairly thicc boys with AP/855A1 if you get ran up on.

What makes me curious is say we shoot Trooper with 366 EKO 30 which has 30 pen value. The video shows it takes 6 shots to kill. But what how can know what is happening exactly? How can we know whether a damage reduction is so high so each of all 6 bullets penetrates an armor and looses damage massively thus it take all of them to kill? Or maybe only a few of 6 bullets actually penetrated the armor and dealt some damage? Maybe only 2 of 6 penetrated and each of these two made at least 43 damage to a thorax (85hp) thus the second killed a player. How to know it exactly besides asking a friend of yours being a target for testing?

I'm surprised you didn't mention the MASSIVE -28% accuracy and +35% recoil with the AP rounds, this really limits the usability of the round and especially on anything further away than 50m you'll start to get RNG messing with you because that gigantic accuracy debuff.

My biggest complaint is the gun stats rather than the ammo. For 440 roubles the ap isnt a bad ammo, but even a BiS recoil .366tkm is still over 110recoil which is pretty bad. Especially for a dmr with such low stat'd ammo.

For what .366 is, I wound rather run the good old 7.62x39. Ammo costs roughtly the same, has less recoil and has some automatic weapon options, rather than a semiauto carbine and a bolt action rifle (I think the AP ammo+VPO-215 is a good budget sniper combo)

. 366 yes that's the reason they implemented this AP ammo because no one was using it. I use it as an budget run option. Gp20 pad, 15k suppressor, small reddot and there you go with 90 dmg 1shot to everything till lvl 3.

As the durablity of the armor decreases, the pen chance increases. How does this affect the amount of damage that the armor mitigates on a pass thru? I.e. youvs shown that a full durablity lvl 4 will reduce the damage of the ap by at least 6, that's why it doesn't one tap. So if someone had a vest that they repaired, could it one tap thru that? I know I've one taped thru the chest against lvl 4 with .366 AP several times

Yep, the more pen a bullet has in relation to the armor value, the less it loses damage. Bullets lose way more damage going through armor than people think. Lps Gzh was very unreliable against class 4 and even class 3 stopped it sometimes before the chest HP buff (Vox_E's test with 7N1 recreated this scenario very well, although LPs consistency would have been even lower because of lower penetration). Hell, 7N1 was not consistently killing in one shot through level 4 before thorax buff and according to NFaM's testing, .366 AP would still not 1-tap through level 4 (rarely) before the thorax buff (sometimes dealing only ~78 damage after penetration).

You messed up on the visor testing, for the alten it’s 11 bullets not twelve. You skipped 10
