How Good is a $15,000 Motion Racing Simulator?!

I think you nailed it with your statement that "this isn't for everyone". I do have a 6DOF rig and it's definitely for me! I love the immersion and the discomfort of a likely crash hanging over my head. I also do 100% VR racing which elevates my immersion over triple screens or ultrawides. If you're the kind of sim-racer that does it for "fun" and "immersion" a motion with VR is the ultimate immersion. If you're in it to put down the fastest lap times, motion can be a detriment. This is a nice 3DOF rig but similar experience can be had for much less albeit not as slick or good looking as this one.

I have a 3DOF system were the actuators are Dynabolted to a cement floor and for car racing only the seat and pedals move. Combined with a QS-BT1 Harness system it does an amazing job in simulating the forces felt in a real car.

Actually I own a 6DOF motion system for 15K€ with Surge, front and rear traction loss from PT Actuator which allows way more immersion than this device. Combined with belt tension and VR it is a real pleasure to drive

I would say the Simucube is nice, but it's not out of this world, really up to what you like and how much your willing to spend I guess

I wouldnt buy a motion simulator for 10k even tbh. Its just not my thing. Ive tried some of the best but i just dont enjoy it as much because im not feeling g forces from the car. It makes me get what we call sim sick. Overtime it gets to you a bit but its an awesome expereince for sure. I will say this simulator is way way better it moves in a much better way. But the bounces for me are a bit to aggressive for an at home expereince for sim racing but also my hips and back cant take it i do have some issues there haha. Im so happy you got to check all of this stuff out. Awesome stuff Now listen some other cheaper ones that just move a little give you some ffb etc yeah I wouldnt mind that just mot the shaking and jolts. I would just like to be told whats happening not actually feel a car without suspension in my home jaha.

Most presentation motion rigs are dialed up to 11. A well dialed in motion sim is fantastic. Trust me, once you´ve tried it you can´t drive without it. The motion simulator shown in the video lacks a seatmover and a belt system. Put this on top of it and will feel phenomenal.

Don´t need an active belt tensioner with the right motion rig. I´ve got a movable seat on top of my motionrig that pushes me in my belt while barking. Feels super relistic.

@@alainm6070 Build on myself, was disapointed. Bought the materials for a second linear actuator and build a seatmover ontop of my sfx-100. After that I fixed the belt on the motion rig so that the seatmover pushes me into the beltsystem. With this setup I can get the best of both worlds. A lot of force for the belts and simulated gforces while braking or cornering. With a belt tensioner you only get the feeling for the belt and miss everything steering wheel or pedal related. I get pushed into the wheel, the pedals and the belt while braking for example.

The wheelbase looks to low, looks like your knees are hitting the wheelbase and the steering wheel is hitting your legs

Oh man if I don’t have my dbox running and try to race it feels SO flat and there is something missing. At shows like this the motion systems are turned up too high to show off what out can do. For circuit racing less is more that’s why the dbox comparatively small 1.5” travel is more than enough. It’s all about how the effects are set up not how much and fast the actuators are.

Sounds nice, but if you want to mortgage your house just to buy this racing rig, go for it. Rich boys with their Rich toys. Just to play a 30-50 dollar racing game. How absurd.
