I also love Gang Ho and Tam Kanun and the ones that you had look incredible. Again you could explain the food very well, now that I believe it’s your talent 😂. I just visited Wat Phratat Khao Noi last month, loved it and it was one of the best places to watch sunset in Nan❤. However, to see it the bird eye view from your drone shots is even more impressive.

They were really good, I guess it deserves its spot as the most famous restaurant in Nan haha., Tam Khanun is the favourite, just because it is the most surprising for the flavour it delivers. Drone always makes things better I think.

Thank you Joel! Nan is amazing, I think it is my favourite province that I have visited so far in Thailand. The food, the people, the scenery, the ambience, it is amazing. The jackfruit salad was crazy good, so moreish and takes the Thai flavours so well. Hope all is well and you are having a great week.

Gaeng Ho may have originated from Burmese Hinle or Hangle curry. expected to occur at the temple Due to important religious festivals such as the Buddhist Lent Day, the End of the Buddhist Lent Day, and the Songkran Festival, the villagers will bring a lot of food to the monks. not run out of monks And in the old days there were no refrigerators. It's a pity to let it go to waste And the food that was offered was good food, such as steamed buns, grilled pork, fried pork, curry om, larb, pork skin, and maybe some curry with coconut milk. The temple then brought those foods to Ho. Add water and pour out the water to wash off some of the spoilage. Then put on fire or stir in oil, add salt, fish sauce, fresh chili or hot pepper. Season as you like, add additional ingredients such as vermicelli, bamboo shoots and flavor by adding kaffir lime leaves and lemongrass. ^^

Oh that’s awesome! Strange about the portion size. I just ordered off the normal menu. I mean I didn’t need them that big. Maybe show them the video to compare. Glad you enjoyed it and very impressed you’re in Nan. Are you going to visit Sapan?

@@hungrytoexplore yes heading there tomorrow. Dinner was awesome. Ordered way too much food. They have an english menu now and a qr code to scan for the menu also. Heading to phayao and chiang rai once we are done with nan. The road from nan to phrae was absolutely awesome. Would be even better on a bike but with a car was also fun.

thank you! The drone really does make a huge difference to most of the videos.
I like Soop (derived from the word 'soup' ) Kanoon, too. To me, I think its texture is similar to boiled Rutabaga or potato. In Isaan dialect, this dish is called Soop Buck Mee. The way you describe the taste and texture of food in such detail is right up there with Gary's. You shouldn't have to rush for sunset though, because good food are meant to be savored. Drone shot is spectacular. Enjoy the warmth in Thailand, Joe. It is minus 11 to 30 degrees below zero for a few days here in the US. Lucky you! 😀🥶🤧🥶

It is such a cracking dish. I really like jackfruit when it is used like that and it works so well with Thai flavours. Thanks for your compliments putting me aligned with Gary, although, I am not convinced of that haha. Depends what kind of mood and flow I am in. I was rushing because this section of the video was actually supposed to be in the previous video but I split it as I thought it deserved its own video. Although obviously it was filmed in a way which was not as if it had its own. Still... it is a great restaurant and worth the visit. I do not envy you with that cold... I won't tell you the temp here.

@Joe Parrilla FYI, If you made it to Koh Samui, Joe, be sure to stop by to say hi to Lily of Lily's life. She and her husband and the children have returned from the northern excursions a few weeks ago. She has about 200k subs, so, a little exposure wouldn't hurt, right? So many KZbinrs have made appearances on her channel and vice versa. She was on Pete from Thairish Times not too long ago, and his subs were up about 2k more after her appearance. 😀, what do you think?

How many nights would you suggest staying in Nan?
@hungrytoexplore2 жыл бұрын
Well, one day to explore in and around the town. One day for a day trip for Sri Nan national park. Then you can drive to sapan via bo kluea (next video) , stay the night in sapan as it’s amazing, then you can drive to pua and stay the night or look around and head back to nan town
All that for $12 US is a bargain. Just a few personal notes....back many decades ago when I was in Thailand for several months, I was learning written Thai but never really mastered it, and few of the menus were written in English; I just ordered what looked good and/or had a great aroma......never had a dish I didn't enjoy, and never had any stomach issues (well, maybe just once when I broke my rule about fresh raw vegetables, since the auntie in charge brought me a special treat). If I ever get back there, I will probably use that Google translator just to make things easier for whoever's with me. Second thing would be.......don't order more than you can eat (or else carry away for later) if you can help it.......folks in Thailand and elsewhere are used to farangs ordering more food than they can possibly eat, and then just leaving food on the table and hurrying off somewhere else.....not very polite, to say the least, and would be considered disrespectful by many. Unless you're with company, I suggest that you order one dish at a time, regardless of what the staff may tell you (and try not to be driven by our common farang impulse to "catch" a sunset, or a sunrise, or a performance, or ceremony. You had enough on your table there to feed four to six folks, and it all looked great....made me jealous. What was extra, or fancy, or whatever, was the presentation.....that was nice also, but you could do the same with street food, and just pick your "sides" like the chilis, and ginger, etc. OK, I've blathered on a bit here, so I'll just leave it at that. As I commented the other day, it'll all come together one day if you keep at it. The most important thing is that you share your interest in Thai food and culture and the total experience, and keep at it. If I didn't believe that, I wouldn't have spent so much time on this comment.
@hungrytoexplore2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for taking your time for such a long comment, I appreciate it :) $12 is a bargain for the quality and amount, plus the setting. I was really happy with the restaurant. Of course you can find cheaper street food but sometimes that isn't the point. Sitting in a restaurant setting is nice. Sure, when I am eating for myself I sometimes just pick at random, it is fun and I certainly don't over order. But for the video, I often need to order more, especially if it is a food only video. I do try and finish everything though or at the very least take away for later. Not good for my waistline though haha. The video was actually filmed as part of the first Nan video, which is why I was in a rush as it was supposed to be a full day in Nan, but when I came to edit, I realised that the restaurant segment could stand alone, although wasn't filmed in that way hence the comments about the rush (which I didn't actually do because the drone shots were from the night before). So it is a bit KZbin vs reality haha. I actually sat and enjoyed a very pleasant meal. 99% of my videos are filmed as seen, but sometimes when things go don't align there has to be a little creative license with timing.

@@hungrytoexplore And thank you for your response. I did find it hard to believe that you would just leave all that uneaten food; I'm glad that you explained how YT and other things on the internet are often different from the reality; I find that to be the case so many times, even with texting on the phone, and it leads to misunderstandings due to the lack of nuance. Enjoying all your videos so far, and I'm sure they will only get better over time. Have a great time during this holiday season, and best wishes for the coming year!
@hungrytoexplore2 жыл бұрын
@@eswillie to be fair, as I mentioned. Almost all of my videos are filmed as they happen - I don’t have the time for it to be any other way. Just in this case the video was so long that I had to split it. Sometimes I misjudge the timing for how much content I film to go into the video that day. I think it’s only happened twice in all my videos, so they are “real” as can be. And with the food, actually when filming and doing long distances on the bike I forget to eat, so a meal like you saw is probably my first meal of the day if breakfast isn’t included in the accommodation, so it’s no problem to hoover it up haha. Thank you, I have you have a fantastic Christmas and new year too. Thanks for your support on the channel :)

good spicy food Calm down for those who are not good at eating spicy food. To eat spicy, you have to gradually. When you eat a little spicy, you will eat more delicious food until the meal you can't lack foods that are not spicy. Benefits of eating spicy = joint pain treatment Capsaicin stimulates the body to release a substance believed to relieve pain between nerves in the spine and other organs, consistent with one study showing capsaicin's efficacy. Zizin by giving patients with joint pain from osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis A cream containing 0.025 percent capsaicin was applied to the knee area four times a day for four weeks. There was a significant improvement in symptoms compared to the placebo group. About 80 percent of patients improved after two weeks of using capsaicin-containing creams, and some had a temporary burning sensation in the area where the cream was applied. Based on the above results, it can be said that capsaicin-containing creams are safe and possibly effective in the treatment of joint pain. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has also endorsed capsaicin, an extract found in chili peppers, to be helpful in relieving joint pain when applied topically.
