How Good Is The Simagic GT Neo & MagLink Kit?

I love this wheel. The only complaint I have is the buttons do rattle a bit when using certain FFB levels. I ask my distributor about this and he confirmed his in-store model did the same, so it wasn't just my wheel being faulty.

Hi, does the quick release have any play or does it fit solidly on the moza base? I have a moza R9 and would like to try this wheel Edit: Got the wheel, Quick release fits good in the moza and doesn't have any kind of play. Only thing is the quick release won't close all the way to the end but I don't think that's a problem as the wheel remains in place perfectly

Hey man, thinking of getting a Sim Magic GT Neo and it comes with a maglink usb Kit, is there a certain wheel base in order to be used or any base holder? My current setup is a Thrustmaster T248. Any help?

I can see that you are using the gloves. There couple of people on Simagic discord r porting that the grips rubber is peeling off. Do you have the same issue?

Other than the slight marking that can be seen in the video, haven't experienced any rubber peeling off. Have only been testing it for the last 3 weeks though, so perhaps after a longer period of time it becomes an issue?

Nice Review, thank you for the Video. I'm considering an Update from My T300rs and current ly not sure which way to go. Moza or Simmsgic or staying at Thrustmaster moving up to the T818. But for all bases this wheel looks like a great addition .

I'd certainly consider moving on from Thrustmaster. You get so much more for your money with Moza or Simagic, with additional features and a more open-ended system to allow for different wheels and bases. Only question which I can't answer is Moza or Simagic. Both have their pro's and con's, with their efforts spent in different places. Would like to test more of simagics stuff to do a bit more of a comparison.

@@oliverzierach7749 I have moza and I loved it but I had overheating issues that resulted me sending back and refunding my base, now going for simagic as I've seen online they do not seem to really have that kind of problems and seem more premium of a brand

Simagic has a higher resolution/fidelity. Mini/r12 and Alpha/r16 and Ultimate vs the r21. Mini is as strong as the r12. It depends on the price. But if its similar, you could go for Simagic. ​@@oliverzierach7749

Simagic at the end of the day they have all you’ll ever need P1000i pedals which you can have inverted & hydraulic The mini wheel has been recorded at peak Torque 12Nm & The base l would go with is alpha Only RaceAnyWhere have it in stock as post 08/01/25 Add shifter has H pattern and switch to sequential Off course all this is going to cost Base alpha wheel Neo pedals P1000i. Then you want to add round wheels or the New GT Neo hub where you can add you now wheel to suit your needs they have it all covered The only thing l not sure about is they start cutting corners to make wheels more affordable whick is great as long as you standard don’t drop any further the GT Neo wheel we see today is good value for money but would want them cut quality anymore than they have this wheel passes but have heard the buttons do rattle they wouldn’t on any wheel they made before this one So keep up the good work But please don’t got any cheaper on quality please

For use with the Moza r12 I have read something about pulling the pin board from the Simagic qr. Is this necessary?

Hint: You don't necessarily have to buy the MagLink addon in order to connect your GT Neo to your PC, as you can use the existing USB-C port for that. Of course you need to consider whether that makes sense respectively puts to much strain on the port. I 3D printed my own USB passthrough for my Q1R style quick release, so I'm running only a short cable from the GT Neo to that connector.

Interesting. I'm not sure I'd be comfortable running the USB-C cable straight into the back as the GT Neo comes, especially on DD Wheels with higher torque forces. With the maglink, you've got the cable that stretches very nicely but also has a very strong magnet (which I forgot to mention) that holds the cable attached without the risk of damaging any ports.

In my case, I just have a short USB-C cable running from the wheel to my QR, which passes the signal to the base side, which again is connected to the PC via a coiled cable. I'd never use that fragile USB-C port for a direct connection to the PC. 🙂 It's just that many reviews suggest you need the MagLink in general for a USB connection, and I wanted to point out that's not the case.

As long as you have the mag link kit, yep. Didn't have to change anything on the Moza and it clips on and off just like any Moza rim does

You do yes, as that comes from the Moza base. Just make sure it is turned on whenever you use it.

Hi, did u end up getting the GT Neo for your R5 base? How does it feel as compare to the ES Wheel Formula mod (if you're using that)? I'm planning on going the same route as u too. wanna upgrade my wheel, then down the line maybe upgrade to an R12 or maybe the Alpha Mini. 😄

@@michaeljunaprasetyakanta9509 Hi, I actually did end up getting the Gt Neo and I really like it. Definitely better quality (of course, more expensive, but still definitely better) than the wheel mod Es Wheel. Buttons feel pretty good and I really like the shifters even though they could be a tiny little more crisp but they're very good and quiet. So not a bad choice at all and I love it. Also ended up ordering the alpha mini, should arrive in a few days xD.

Hi! I have a Simucube 2 Pro Base, it’s possible to use the QR included with the wheel?

You'll need the Maglink kit for it to work on the Simucube 2 Pro base. With the Maglink is a couple of adapters. You'll need to take the existing quick release off the GT Neo and attach the Simucube quick release to one of the adapters and attach that back onto the wheel. Plug it in via USB and you're good to go.

People have been making not of the plastic coming off of the grips, did you have this?

Other than the slight marking on the grips that you can see in the video, I've not noticed any forms of wear. There's a slight mark on the top right but that was from me knocking something against the wheel. Haven't noticed any plastic coming off the grips or the grips coming off the wheel.

I was just browsing eBay and I couldn't help but notice how manyy people are trying to sell the GT Neo for 4 $440-450. It's like they have no clue that the wheel is in stock at Simagic retailers and available for $289 shipped! So disgusting to see people trying to pull this lazy hustle
