I love how quickly Assetto Corsa can go from modern circuit racing, to historic re-enactments of the greatest races from the past, to a heaven for anyone who wants to put themselves into the 1990's Japanese car tuning scene. Between this and SRP, there's something for every flavour of car weeb.

me, a 16 years old boy, makes me happy when I think that I actually grew up with the touge experience since I started playing racing video games at 3 or 4 years old, and the first game I played and still play to the days of today is Need For Speed Carbon (that is 16 years old as well), and for the ones that doesn't know about the game, it features touge racing or as referred in the game, canyon duels, where you go for a 2-stage race, chase and lead, against the boss of each territory. This type of racing amazes me in such a special way that I can't really explain, especially in the game, once I disabled all HUD features (not including the rear view mirror) for the first time, the atmosphere of the game made me feel that it was actually me driving that car on the canyons, and I grew up playing that game and it kept me getting more into the car scene as time goes by

I don`t understand how it`s possible that there still isn`t a modern big budget racing game that does touge and wangan races... Point to point races between 2 people down narrow and twisty roads are some of the most fun and intense races you can have, and yet nobody does it... The onlqy mainstream game I can think of that did anything even kind of similar was NFS carbon with it`s canyon run boss fights, and it was glorious
@yantelessantana8660 Жыл бұрын
i think the reason is that tougue racing is very hard. look at forza horizon. the street are ultra wide to be forgiving to players. i would still love to se a good touge game. the only one i know is for the ps2 kaido racer or tokyo xtreeme racing drift
@andreanastacio9548 Жыл бұрын
@@yantelessantana8660 I guess that`s true, but I still think it could be made to work, even in a more casual friendly game like FH5. Carbon is a great example of this, IMO, because while the roads in the canyon run races are super steep and twisty, they`re generally still pretty wide, and even late game cars (like tuned lambos, vipers, porsches and corvettes) are still manageable, if a bit scary to use at times. I think that if PGG had made more twisty roads with alot of elevation changes, they could`ve allowed for touge style races, while still having the roadsbe wide to help make the experience more forgiving. It would`ve also given lower class cars more of a purpose, since the way the game is currently designed, everybody is in super high class cars, and it feels unrewarding to use lower tier cars. I can understand why FH5 doesn`t do touge, but it boggles my mind that no track based games really explored touge or wangan as a game mode, especially given how much of a selling point it would be. It could be a particularly good fit for a more serious simcade racing game like Gran turismo of forza motorsport, or even a slighly more arcade style game like the grid games (grid 2 had a couple of point to point tracks that vad a somewhat similar vibe, but the races weren`t set up touge style)
@SHADOWWOLF3546 Жыл бұрын
this is so nostalgic for me, on Gran turismo 5 they let you make your own tracks. from like 6 months after the game came out till the servers shut down i ran in a league called Legend of the streets where the tuning, tires etc. where restricted. full damage and fuel usage. we would run the cat and mouse races like this but endless longest ever was 42 rounds 3 hours. it's one of my greatest memories of those days rushing home from school to hop on gt5 and challenge our custom touge's still have my dozen or so notebooks full of tunes and recorded race results. somewhere north of 2,000 hours of that. will remember that for the rest of my life .

Loved this! I'd love to see this be revisited where Jimmer uses and attempts to master some of the famous MAOU of the Touge, though admittedly, I'm not well versed in the community to know if recreations of things like the J's RACING S2000 or FEED FD3S have been made in AC.

Fudging love this. TOP SETUP EG6 was my favourite touge car. Such an underdog story with a fwd car beating all 👍👍

I used to watch a lot of Hot Version, especially their Gunsai Battles. This video was way more entertaining than I thought, well driven!

I've been lapping Gunsai in Italian supercars the last few days, and I gotta say. It is an awesome and unique way to experience the touge

I downloaded this Track quiete a while ago and drive it very often along with the Nordschleife to test new cars, I didn’t knew there was such a community around it!

Your accidental gutter runs actually kept the 86 stable following around that MR2.
