I love how quickly Assetto Corsa can go from modern circuit racing, to historic re-enactments of the greatest races from the past, to a heaven for anyone who wants to put themselves into the 1990's Japanese car tuning scene. Between this and SRP, there's something for every flavour of car weeb.

I mean there are teams, you can create your own with friends and battle other teams, although the TU community has been kinda dead for the last year, lets hope jimmer can bring it back to life. Its kinda surprising how he managed to miss it, TU has been around for 6+ years and if you searched for "touge" in AC server search at any point during those years youd find a TU server with 20+ people at all times

Oh yeah, theres also the Battle Stage tournament that recently got renamed into something else, with brackets, initial d style battles and extremely fast drivers Edit: just checked, it got renamed to Touge Championship Series with a new format of sorts, ran 1 season which ended in december last year, got discontinued, and now there are 2 tounaments: Rookie Stage, where only people who havent proven themselves yet can participate, and Special Stage which returns to the original Battle Stage format and starts in late April.

I don't even have the game, but I have to agree that the modding community has done some awesome things with AC! I just don't have a decent PC to play games with, and I waste most of my spare time with GT7 in the all new PSVR2 (And it's freaking amazing! Except for the shitloads of dirty drivers in the daily online races, in some races I get the feeling everyone thinks they're KIMI VELOCINI, GT7 seems to be the goto game for dirty drivers, people just don't understand sportsmanship and think a race means "last man standing wins the race")

Compared to that, the german scene is about the Golf and driving straight on the autobahn. Its a shame.

I don`t understand how it`s possible that there still isn`t a modern big budget racing game that does touge and wangan races... Point to point races between 2 people down narrow and twisty roads are some of the most fun and intense races you can have, and yet nobody does it... The onlqy mainstream game I can think of that did anything even kind of similar was NFS carbon with it`s canyon run boss fights, and it was glorious
@yantelessantana8660
@yantelessantana8660 Жыл бұрын
i think the reason is that tougue racing is very hard. look at forza horizon. the street are ultra wide to be forgiving to players. i would still love to se a good touge game. the only one i know is for the ps2 kaido racer or tokyo xtreeme racing drift
@andreanastacio9548
@andreanastacio9548 Жыл бұрын
@@yantelessantana8660 I guess that`s true, but I still think it could be made to work, even in a more casual friendly game like FH5. Carbon is a great example of this, IMO, because while the roads in the canyon run races are super steep and twisty, they`re generally still pretty wide, and even late game cars (like tuned lambos, vipers, porsches and corvettes) are still manageable, if a bit scary to use at times. I think that if PGG had made more twisty roads with alot of elevation changes, they could`ve allowed for touge style races, while still having the roadsbe wide to help make the experience more forgiving. It would`ve also given lower class cars more of a purpose, since the way the game is currently designed, everybody is in super high class cars, and it feels unrewarding to use lower tier cars. I can understand why FH5 doesn`t do touge, but it boggles my mind that no track based games really explored touge or wangan as a game mode, especially given how much of a selling point it would be. It could be a particularly good fit for a more serious simcade racing game like Gran turismo of forza motorsport, or even a slighly more arcade style game like the grid games (grid 2 had a couple of point to point tracks that vad a somewhat similar vibe, but the races weren`t set up touge style)

me, a 16 years old boy, makes me happy when I think that I actually grew up with the touge experience since I started playing racing video games at 3 or 4 years old, and the first game I played and still play to the days of today is Need For Speed Carbon (that is 16 years old as well), and for the ones that doesn't know about the game, it features touge racing or as referred in the game, canyon duels, where you go for a 2-stage race, chase and lead, against the boss of each territory. This type of racing amazes me in such a special way that I can't really explain, especially in the game, once I disabled all HUD features (not including the rear view mirror) for the first time, the atmosphere of the game made me feel that it was actually me driving that car on the canyons, and I grew up playing that game and it kept me getting more into the car scene as time goes by

Waw, this so sick! Those corner exits inches from the barriers in the r32 were lovely. Going all out too just like they used to in the show haha.

Absolutely love this! It's nice seeing some more touge content with vibrant scenery and 90's JDM cars. I'd love to see more of these down the line and even though it only involves 2 cars it feels so much tenser

I really enjoyed this video. A lot of enthusiasm for this game. That road looks wonderful, maybe not the actual best graphics but there is something real about it the way they've captured the light.

Have to admit I'd never heard of this kind of racing until one of the 'Grid' series introduced it to the lineup; I do quite like it and watching you drive is fun, fun, fun.

Jimmy PLEASE get on the Kaido battle tour servers, you can find all the info under announcements in touge union. You can do races with “life meters” and has almost every car/road from initial d. There’s even leaderboards for uphill and downhill!

That battle between the GTR and the NSX was tense man. Interesting because for the most part you were pulling away from the NSX during the first round, but in those same sections you couldn't get close to him in the second round. That overcooked final hairpin so you could overtake was incredible, this looks so fun

Awesomely done on that 2nd round; forcing that error out of your opponent then capitalising on it. Well done.

Loved this! I'd love to see this be revisited where Jimmer uses and attempts to master some of the famous MAOU of the Touge, though admittedly, I'm not well versed in the community to know if recreations of things like the J's RACING S2000 or FEED FD3S have been made in AC.
