Frankly he didn’t look like anything special at all in the 2 preseason games so far. Was a bit of a liability even on the ball. Not sold on him yet. Let’s see how he does…think he could do with a loan this season to a championship club.

I disagree. I think we should give him an opportunity. I see a lot of good things in him. One thing in particular what he shows is physicality which we are desperately lacking in the midfield. I think he can potentially become someone of McTominays calibre but with more technical prowess.

Oyedele has better physicality, strength, pace and tackling wheareas collyer has better passing, awareness and simple gameplay. Both are CDMs however I feel oyedele is the better player between the two overall

spot on, but to add on that, from what i see, oyedele is not a holding 6 (currently) but an 8 but NOT like a de jong, mainoo or mount but more like a fred, kone, anguissa, gravenberch or thuram. he does not want to receive facing his own goal ( emphasis on opinion). I think ten hag likes collyer because of his willingness to position himself and always being an available passing option. to be fair though i dont watch youth football i got all this from pre season games and some highlights.

Personally from what I’ve seen I think collyer first touch/close ball control is way off the standard required for top level football. Especially under pressure. He constantly looks under pressure due to poor touches when receiving the ball during this pre season, which is a worry as pre season pressing is already way below regular season football.

Oyedele is more of a ball winner than Collyer. Oyedele would be a Casemiro replacement whereas Collyer is closer to Amrabat. Don’t think Ten Hag rates either Gore or Oyedele though.

Eriksen is not the future of the United midfield but these two poormans James Garners are neither.
