One advise: your historical videos do have good quality and deserve to be at higher level of views and success ...but videos with you playing video-games is boring and only interesting for geeks and other people into video-games. I suggest you to leave this channel for one of those subjects and make a new one. Also, due to your good speech, overall good quality in what you produce, you can start exploring other themes related with football, like: tactics, player's history, fun facts, historical-events,etc... You can make a channel just focused in football's history or any other theme that there are not many like in KZbin. From Portugal and from a 'benfiquista': success to you and to our Benfica...may better days come and with it a European-title.

Both of these teams drive each other. I'm a passionate United fan, have been for over four decades, I have watched Liverpool be the dominant force, not just in England but also in Europe, while United languished with the odd FA cup win. But the rivalry spurred us on, and when Ferguson came along, promising to break the dominance of Liverpool, it changed the landscape again. This, despite a 28 year gap, has definitely bitten hard at Liverpool fans, who not only have had to watch United's success, have had to see the other Manchester Club, City, spend their way to titles due to a rich Sugar Daddy. But this year will probably be Liverpool's year... and if they win it, deservedly so. They have played the kind of football, I wish United were playing. Klopp is a great manager and they have a fantastic squad. And nothing, absolutely nothing, should give United more determination than seeing their number one rival rise to success again. And long may this rivalry continue.

They're still not on the same level as United and Liverpool in terms of history, fan base, trophies(champions league elites), rivalries and integral structure. Add to that the hypocrisy of the club and fans regarding the tragic death of 39 Juve fans in 1985 along with the creation of sick songs celebrating the death of 23 people and you have a perfect recipe for a vile club and scum fanbase! Important to also point out that the Manc/Scouse rivalry goes beyond the shipping canal. It’s a deep hatred through traditional “divide and rule” Englishness. In England the North is far poorer than the south, this divide worsened once industry declined in the 60s, 70s and 80s. Manchester and Liverpool - with their distinctive accents, high crime rates and impoverished areas - became the butt of English jokes. Instead of linking up together as Lancastrians and fighting these cruel stereotypes, they decided to take it out on one another. They began themselves to abuse one another with those stereotypes in order to prove, not who was better, but who was WORSE. A “yeh we’re not great but at least we’re not them“ mindset. This became incredibly nasty. Incredibly prejudice. Enter the era of hooliganism + tragedies striking the two clubs, and the cruel humour became unforgivable actions and pure hatred.
@michealflaithbheartaigh41396 жыл бұрын
It's not a Manc/ Scouse rivalry ....its an LFC / United rivalry. I'm a Scouser, I support Everton and I have no problem with anyone from Manchester. It purely comes down to United being jealous of Liverpool in the 70;s/80/s and Liverpool being jealous of United in the 90's /2000s. Any historic social / economic rivalry between the cities is just an excuse from 2 bitter sets of fans with a divine right to win complex .
@KryptonitetoallBS6 жыл бұрын
@@michealflaithbheartaigh4139 You are right about the LFC-MUFC thing. I agree it's not a city thing at all or why would Everton-City, United-Everton or City-Liverpool be just as volatile? Where you're wrong is why there is a hatred between United and Liverpool. I know you're wrong because I experienced the hatred way before Liverpool did well in the 70's or United did well in the 90's. The hatred was beginning back at LEAST as early as 1973 as Liverpool's sick song was sung in many school playgrounds around the country. Certainly in mine. Sure there are MANY other contributory factors and yours are part of that, but they didn't start the rivalry. Btw United and Everton used to get along just fine. I stood on the Gladys Street end as a teenager in the 80's and cheered when Frank Stapleton scored . The Everton fans were sound with me but that's changed nowadays. Sadly they have adopted some of the animosity usually reserved for the Red Shite ( as you would call them) ;-)

@Who's this - This has nothing to do with ´Englishness´ and even less with ´divide and conquer´(what on Earth are you on? Is someone conquering someone here? Is this attitude a top-down conspiracy to bring a rift in England's population? You're just making a very lazy and absurd analogy). In all countries there are regional tensions, with the rich regions looking down on poorer, less populated and less sophisticated regions. Find me a country where this doesn't happen.

Liverpool and Manchester have a great rivalry , I'm a Utd fan, but worked in Liverpool for many years , great people , and will never forget their taxi drivers coming over to Manchester to help the victims of the MEN bombing..now if you want to see a team we both can't stand , just wait till when Leeds get back into the premiership , if any of us are still breathing by then 🤣🤣🤣

You're ALMOST there. It was actually the building of the bridge on the Manchester Ship Canal that REALLY kicked things off. Major engineering works in the North West of England got their workers from Liverpool, but whoever was in charge of Manchester at the time decided to give the work to Mancunians, so it was a DOUBLE blow for them.

As a fan of neither team, I am thinking the FA Cup Semi-Final of 1985, or Cantona's goal in 1996 FA Cup final or Cantona's match after suspension where Fowler got a brace. Love these videos, if you did one on the Turin derby it would be appreciated.

I grew up in a village at the European continent. I became a LFC fan in the first part of the 1970's. LFC and Man Utd had the biggest fan base here. I knew about nothing of the local rivelry between Merseyside and Manchester. Still based on the fan base in my village Man Utd and Man Utd fans became a natural rival to me and I guess this was mutual. During the 1980's the Man Utd fans were reduced to nothing. We didn't see any Man Utd fans. We didn't hear them. They were like nobody. I bet they were here but they kept shut.

You actually kind of downplay Newton Heath's record... They actually had pretty good players and had a bunch of good upsets against more established teams, but was plagued by mismanagement ( kink of like today's post sir Alex era ) hence the slide down. It was due to these potential that there was interest in purchase of the club and restructuring&/ rebranding did work in rising the club's profile. However, when these "promising players" were gone they struggled in getting new good players since all the good Manchester players would rather play in the well financed Man City. That's why Sir Matt Busby's solution in developing young talents was a great idea that revolutionized the game.

Would love to see you do a root of the rivalry video for Leeds Vs Man Utd, still considered by many to be one of the biggest rivalries in England, but obviously hasn't been played competitively for quite some time due to the misfortunes of Leeds United. Still, both supporters definitely don't like each other very much, even after all of these years. Fun fact: Leeds will be playing Manchester United in a 'friendly' in Perth, Australia next year, this will be the first time the two clubs have met since they last played back in 2011.

The rivalry was there much earlier than the late seventies and early eighties and it started from a bitterness and envy from Liverpool. Back when Shanks started @ Liverpool in the late 50's the rivalry was a healthy one but then United became everyone's darlings after Munich and then with the amazing side of the mid sixties with Best, Law and Charlton. Still there was little hatred around. But as Liverpool got stronger under Shanks and started winning a resentment started because they still didn't get the attention that they felt they deserved. And the reason they didn't get the attention was because everyone was more interested in what was happening @ Old Trafford with Manchester United. This really grated with Liverpool fans. They felt that the BBC, the newspapers and the general public always wanted to know about Manchester United and tbf they had a point. The truth is that everyone WAS more interested in United and still are. It's just the way things are. But scousers the world over are very, very bitter about that. This was just the start of the rivalry. Many other things added to it over the years but lets get 1 thing straight. There was always a HEALTHY rivalry up until the early/mid seventies. It only started getting ugly when Liverpool felt overlooked and began their famous munich song ! I don't know exactly the year that song was invented but I know it was pre-1973 as I heard it sang in the playground @ school.

Fair points. However I will say that United's ascendancy in the 90s was based on their marketing strategy to go global with their brand at a time when football became more mainstream due to TV rights, and not simply associated with a 'working class' game. It was a stroke of genius. Revenue streams from that brand are the reason they are the club with the biggest value in the world. Liverpool missed the boat, and still believed in 'promoting from the boot room' rather than seizing on the commercial success of their rivals that fed the success on the pitch. LFC are finally back because they are been managed properly both on and off the field.
