Whoever claims that Drogba wasn`t a top tier striker doesn`t know football. This man changed how the game was played in England, everyone had striker partnerships until Drogba came along, The man was so well rounded, he had it all, pace, strength aerial presence he could lead the line himself. He was always a handful and a nightmare even for the best defenders, physically there weren`t many that could match Didier. His score in finals speaks for itself, he was born for the big occasion.

@witchsorrowful19183 жыл бұрын
He was one of the greatest players of 2005-2015s era. Simply because he was a one man forward force. He could break defences with his runs; he could break defences with his back to the goal; he could break defences in the air; and, he could break defences with clutch goals. He was everything that a center forward needed to be. He could lead the line. I judge how good a striker is based on their ability to break a defence, and Drogba was a genius at that.

Drogba, or Didier? Both, Didier Drogba, damn, this is an incomparable striker, Drogba wasn't a king, unless you saw him as a God King, then you'd be right. Chelsea hasn't had a player like him...wait did they ever have one like him before him? Didier Drogba always brings tears of appreciation to my eyes. GOD bless you Drogba!

not to be disrespectful to all other african legends, but everyone has their own sympathies. And my biggest sympathy for an african player goes with Didier. I absolutely LOVE this guy, and it's my 2nd favorite striker of all time, after Andryi Shevchenko. I've always said that the difference between great footballers and legends is having a great character, too. And Didier IS a great character, which is what had propelled him into the Hall Of Fame for me. Sometimes, I watch football nowadays and feel that something's missing, something from the greatest 2 decades of football of the mid-90s to the mid-2010s when I have been very lucky to be able to witness all these footballers several times a week for 20 years: Drogba, Shevchenko, Kaka, Pirlo, Maldini, Nesta, Seedorf, Nedved, Del Piero, Cannavaro, Totti, Raul, Ronaldo (the real one), Zizou, Beckham, Figo, Eto'o, Ronaldinho, Stevie G, Frank Lampard, Essien, Ballack, Owen, Torres, Ruud Van Nistelrooy, Rooney, Giggs, Robben, Ribbery, and so many others that I don't remember at the moment. Sure, there are still great footballers today, but not with the authority aura and charisma of the aforementioned legends. Something's missing from today's football, and media is guilty of turning the last decade into a penaldo-messi competition. I feel that other players (dybala, coutinho, sane, and many others) could have easily taken up the spotlights had they not been marginalized so much by the media and by the fans of this sport. Oh well.... the good thing about legends is that after retirement, they continue to live in our memories. And Didier has his special place in my heart and memory. Great footballer, but also great character

Always hated him when I was a young fan of Manchester United, After grown up, now I can appreciate greatness from all these rivals players, namely Henry, Terry, Gerrard, Drogba and Crespo.
