Even 1 Speed stat can mean the difference between being destroyed by Garchomp immediately or finishing it with HP Ice. Although I will say doubling the Attack stat may be as good because priority but your point is still very true.

This is why Mega Garchomp is considered inferior to its regular form, losing just 10 points from the Speed stat left it outpaced by a bevy of Pokémon that it normally gets the jump on, like Black Kyurem and everything at base 100. 92 is nowhere near as good a tier as 102.

I really like Kabutops! I never had any idea that it was used this much...probably because it's been cemented in my mind as a Gen 1 Pokemon, since as a fossil Pokemon, it doesn't show up recent games that often, except maybe as something that feels like an Easter egg. Keep in mind that there's currently over 800 Pokemon. There's about 50 labeled as OU by Smogon at any given time with about another 50 that are somewhat viable but outclassed and only a few others that are VGC viable that aren't OU/Uber viable. The average Pokemon is bad, even if you restricted it to final evolutions.

Poor Kabutops, Smogon cut down its wings in its prime before it even got to soar. Too bad there is very little reason to use it when Mega Swampert exists. BUT GUESS WHAT I REMEMBERED, megas don't exist in Sword and Shield, so it might become the Rain Superstar its supposed to be. Hope Galar Immigration treats it kindly.

Since the first time I went I've been there five times more and it took all that time to find a doctor who took me seriously; so now I'm transitioning from Klonopin to Xanax. My insurance is being a bit aggravating with not wanting to cover the Xanax but I'll work something out. I'm doing better now that I'm on a set of medications that, for now at least, are working correctly. My parents weren't a fan of the Xanax or Thorazine but they can't really argue against a doctor in a hospital.

Kabutops imo realistic buffs Moves: -shell smash, if barbaracle (and all other water types relicanth except get it, so should kabutops. -Close combat: it fits, especially with scyther having received it recently -wave crash: water type that's big enough to learn it Ability: tough claws and sharpness both fit, but don't replace swift swim Stats: upp it's speed to 95

Always interesting when a Pokémon actually improves before eventually dwindling. Also always fun to learn about Pokémon like this that I wouldn't expect to have a place in ubers during certain generations.

I love Kabutops. I used it in the Battle Tower Gen 4 and helped me my first over 100 win streak on my Doubles Rain Dance team. The weather nerf Gen 6 on hurt it, but it's still one of my favorite Pokemon.

I really hope it gets a stat buff since the avarage mon in the newer generations have a better base stat total. A lot of gen1 Pokémon need stat buffs. It give it shell Smash and close combat. Both fit its dessign, but if I had to pick one, I'd pick shell smash

kabutops is like that veteran swordsman who's not that experience in his younger days, but gradually grew stronger and more experienced as he grows and ages, unwavering and adapting to even the harsher of conditions. And his strength unmatched against even the strongest of foes. But as age caught up with him and he's no longer as strong as before, so he uses his experience in his battles to show he's that even through he's old, he's not a pushover. But alas allowing the newer generations to takeover while he retires. The fact that he has the same video duration as mewtwo speaks for itself

Kida disapointed the Z-stone edge set wasn't covered. It has its relevence along side M.Swampert and Kingdra as THE threat in smogon OU rain. That said. very cool hearing about Kaputops viability through out these last few gens :D

I love kabutops. it was the 4th pokemon i trained for competitive battles (6 gen) and it worked pretty well :)
