Mawile just wanted to bite harder. So by the end of gen 5, it thought "why not have bigger jaws, or even two of them!?" This severe miscalculation has resulted in many Pokémon being ripped apart, broken, or wondering if their defenses got nerfed. But Mawile doesn't care. It got to taste Ubers, something only so many Pokémon can dream of. That said, I like both its non mega and mega designs. It constantly made me sad that I never had Ruby, but recruiting it in PMD: Darkness/Sky was a close enough alternative until I could finally own one for myself.

And because this typing Magearna is also so dahm good. Both M-Mawile and Magearna are keys in 6vs6 META. M-Mawile is the best physical wallbreaker in the game almost with no counters (You can't counter a poke if you cant't survive a hit); Magearna is more versatile, being able to function like an AV pivot, setup sweeper, anti-sweep with Heath swap (Specially useful in Ubers vs Xerneas, P-Kyogre or Necrozma DM), or revenge killer. Yeah, this is maybe the best combination in the game, good both in defense anda attack.

A good example of a Pokemon that got revitalized by Mega Evolution. Hope GameFreak brings back Megas in Sword and Shield. Also, please no more Megas on actual good Pokemon that don't really need it. I was excited that Mawile was next, until I immediately remembered, "Oh yeah, it wasn't good before Gen 6." Regardless of competitiveness, Mawile is one of my favorite Pokemon to use and favorite Gen 3. It has helped me a lot ever since Omega Ruby. And thanks to the Gen 6 games, I've been adoring Mawile for its usefulness and cuteness. Whenever Mawile was available, I would place it in my team showing how much I like the Pokemon. That's basically how I feel about Mawile. Can't wait for the next video for False Swipe Gaming.

That thing was a consistent brick wall, able to easily outspeed and OHKO the whole team. That really tested my strategic thinking. I could've sworn Ms. Boom had Sheer Force instead of Intimidate. That probably would've made her more effective. I don't remember why I did that. Whoops.

My first time encountering a mawhile in competitive Gen 3 OU a few months ago, I got swept thanks to its iron defence boosts finishing off the chain. From that point on, i vowed revenge and I've never ran a celebi without perish song on a team combined with whirlwind skarm again. On the plus side, it caused me to actually learn the matchup against the most infuriating playstyles imaginable. Was surprised mawhile wasnt just a gimmick addition, it's actually a nice addition. Welp, it was as bad as Mawile from gen 3 and 4, he had a niche in Gen V when he got access Prankster and was used in or against Baton Pass teams iirc. In gen VI he got his mega which made him THE Stall Pokémon, he was so good at what he was doing that he eventually got banned like a few days before SuMo's official release. In gen VII he's ok as a stall mon, but the introduction of Z-Moves was a hard blow to its viability though. He wasn't as good in Doubles, I didn't play through VGC 14&15, but he was sure hella bad is VGC16, bc you know, Xerneas being a thing, and its playstyle being much more suited to Singles where he can eat hits for days and Recover the damage he took.

Only mega without a mega stone, an ability which negates flying weaknesses (combined with decend hp and defenses), great movepool (run it physikal, special, mixed with draco etc). Let´s face it... there are only few things it hasn´t: Extreme bulk, Quiver Dance, reliable recovery... but hey who needs that when you can spam brave bird with no recoil after one dragon dance and just sweep?

Also, unlike many mega, the statistics are not exaggerated at all, it only has a total base of 480, the only thing that could be discussed is about the Huge Power ability, which is the main reason why Mawile-Mega broke the meta in 6th generation.

Mawile receiving a mega evolution and becoming a steel/fairy type certainly made Mawile a terrifying Pokémon for players to be concerned about facing off against. Being able to defeat the likes of Garchomp, Salamance, and Tyranitar with the new fairy type making Mawile completely immune to dragon type moves and being immune to poison/sandstorm. Plus Mawile’s mega evolution does feel like it would be a natural evolution for Mawile.

Mawile is one of my favorite pokemon, and I hope the regular version gets some kind of buff. I'm not a competitive player, but I'm currently playing pokemon sword and I'm hoping to get one with the ability sheer force, and mixing it with the life orb to get a total 60% extra damage, and the ability sheer force ignore's the life orb's downside as long as I attack with an attack that has a secondary effect. I might also have some pokemon get up it's attack and putting up a subsitute before baton passing over to mawile to have a lot of attack, even without the mega form. Even though regular mawile isn't very good competitively, i'll try to use it anyways

I know this is obivous, but someone has to say it. Sadly, Mawile's mega was taken away in gen 8 and it became weak agian. Even though it has a good typing, it can't do anything even in PU. So it once agian fell to Untiered. And now with the announcement of a new gen, fans are hoping Mawile might get a evolution in the future.

I wish these types of stories were more common. The huge problem with Mega evolution was that it was basically a popularity contest and really only made already strong pokemon stronger, but in these instances where a forgotten pokemon gets a boost to OU is really what the main goal should have been all along.

I had never given much thought to Mawile in the past. I didn't dislike it but it never really stood out in my mind but now looking back with this video a mega evolution was exactly what it needed. It not only helped it make a mark in competitive but it also helped it stand out more with it's design. Good for you Mawile. You deserve it.

Y'know, it's such a shame that even IF Mega Mawile comes back, it has been absolutely neutered in usefulness because of a new pokemon. Three words. Crowned. Sword. Zacian. (Edit: Thank you for saying they were in different tiers, that makes me calmer. But, I'm still gonna leave the rest of this because it's still good to note.) Sure its attack isn't as ridiculous (It is still huge at 170 base!) but the big thing here is speed. *Zacian is the fastest Fairy-type pokemon in existence at 148 base. Triple that of Mega Mawile.* That also means another thing... *Zacian outspeeds ALL dragon type pokemon!* The only ones that come close are Dragapult at 142 and Mega Sceptile (Which isn't even in Sword and Shield!) at 145!

I *love* mawile. It may not have stood a chance competitively until it got a mega, but it's design has always been one of my favorites. It's one of the pokemon that I just instantly loved as soon as I saw it - like mimikyu, garchomp line, empoleon line, kingdra line, primarina line, and [obviously] a few others. It was literally the first pokemon I IV breed for Gen6.
