Off rip, D-Rose was NOT in his prime when he was named MVP. I think a number of people overlook the fact that his early play style was not built to last. He took ONE bad step, and it was all over from there. If that did not happen in 2012, it probably would've happened later down the line, which arguably would've been worse. Also, I don't think they would've won a championship during the D-Rose era until they replaced Thibodeau and improved their offense, neither of which they ever did. Honestly, 50-pt D-Rose has become more preferable to me because THAT play style would've been WAY more beneficial to him early on. Btw, 2018 Oladipo is more well-rounded than 2011 D-Rose, but not as impactful.

When Solz asked the question at the start. i was dumbstruck - not offended, but the audacity to say "was he better than 2018 Oladipo" is egregious. But when you look at how good Oladipo was, his efficiency, and his defense - his ability to distribute the ball as a SG. After some thinking, it's not nearly as bad a question as I thought. The guy was a few FTs from a 50/40/90 season too. Oladipo was on his way man. Mightve been career robbed just as hard too...

You either are blind, deaf, or just plain crazy. Drose was something we never seen in terms of his quickness, explosiveness, and just overall ability to ball. You can look at guys like john wall, Russell Westbrook, ja marant ect, aint none of them got sh** on drose back when he was on the bulls. Drose was different, and had he never suffered that injury he woulda won a championship or two and dethroned Miami. He almost done it anyway.

Okay so let’s talk cause I feel like what Drose did was special (AT THE TIME). The thing I hate the most is when we do the comparison game but I understand why we do it but mfs gotta understand the game changes over time we compare Ja but look how the game was played then compared to now interior bigs were a thing around that time, look at the bigs now if we are doing the comparison game also one thing that gets over shadowed that Rose did was going against the Reigning Champs(Celtics) and tied Kareem’s record for most points scored by a Rookie debuting in the playoffs (36pts first ever playoff game) let that sink in cause when Luka did the same thing the world was on fire but I reiterate this is why I hate the comparison game we can legit talk about everything back then cause they will compare the comp now Vs then but back then u had a PRIME BRON PRIME MELO PRIME CP3 Kobe just came off a ship that same year and the list continues. Overall all I’m saying is yes the game is probably better now but don’t overshadow what was going on around that time he’s a underrated MVP (IMO) cause we didn’t see his Prime because of his injuries. So with that being said don’t diminish what he did cause u see his numbers Vs players numbers now we are in a different era.

I think part of athleticism is durability. Not only is it important to be able to jump high, but also doing it over and over for a long period. While d rose broke down in 2012 after 5 years, Russ played every possible game and is STILL seen as an iron man. Knowing that he gave it 110% every single game, it's honestly impressive that Russ's lowest games played in a season is 46 due to a freak injury and hasn't missed too many games in 16 years. While both were physical freaks in their peak, durability is why I give the "most athletic guard" title to westbrook.
@wtegna
@wtegna Жыл бұрын
Russ is the most explosive guard to ever play and rose is second. Look at all the ingredients of athleticism, (speed, strength, agility, stamina/motor, first step , vertical , etc , etc. russ is first in 4 out of 6 of them. He is the most athletic point guard to ever play in this league. On top of that he’s done it longer than rose and wall who were also in competition of most athletic in the league. Ja has the virtical , rose the agility and the rest is Russ. It’s not hard folks Russ is the best athlete at the pg position. Dude literally collides with 7 footers and they bounce of him😂, dude is never tired , dude dunks over 7 footers. I don’t need to say anything about the first step cuz we all know.

@@Huh-it1tz body control we can look at it 2 ways. Russ body control is elite and so is rose. One is better at manoeuvring the ball mid air to finish (rose) though I think kyrie is actually the best, the other is the strength to take hits and bodies leaning/flying at u and still and being able to finish (russ/wall). I get your point though. It’s definitely debatable. Buh first step , there’s no one else but russ every game u see glimpses of it. In his prime every move was just to quick to guard. Russ 1 , rose2 . Hey I think the 2015 year might be a solid argument to make bc that year they took the cavs to 6 and nearly went up 3-1 on them if Bron didn’t hit the game winner, if they had a prime D rose who knows what would of happen

biggest what if in NBA history. i wish he adopted his playstyle when he dropped 50 much earlier on in his career; he relied too much on his athleticism, and it screwed him over... he was bound to hurt himself eventually

Ppl love to hate on drose. Dude won mvp his 3rd season leading his team at a young age. Him and the bulls took defending champ Celtics to 7 games. And the era was slightly different. Numbers arent as inflated as they are now. Defense is less prevalent now also. Rose wasnt near his prime or peak yet and he achieved what he did. Mfs needa get off his 🥜

No y’all ride his fucking nuts. Y’all niggaz ride this man off of his first 3 years and still talk about it 12-13 years later. I’ve never seen somebody get credit for one great season as much as rose does

@@JohnSmith-uw4jp from what u see. Rose is properly rated. As a bulls fan myself, most bulls fans place him where he should be. Most of the overrating u may see is from other fans. I personally feel he's underrated and overrated at the same time. And bcuz hes a what if player, ppl flip flop with his rating.
