How GOOD was Rampage Jackson Actually?
When you hear Rampage, do you think of the word which is defined as a period of violent and uncontrollable behaviour or the name of the MMA fighter who became a superstar in the sport with his eccentric personality and highlight reel performances. A fighter who captured UFC gold. But his fighting career after the UFC and his popularity outside of the cage seems to have overshadowed what he did back in the day.
So how good was Rampage Jackson actually?

OH MY GOD, young Rampage had submission wins! PRIDE Rampage was who got me into MMA. Wasn't as enthusiastic with UFC and post UFC Rampage who became a head hunter with his boxing and abandoned his slams and the more diversified skillset he showcased in PRIDE.
@protojager
@protojager 4 жыл бұрын
I think he abandoned the slams later on because they take so much energy, you have to put a lot of power into a single move and as you get older you lose some of that power, so it's less effective. I think he just didn't want to risk gassing himself out with a slam, only to be reversed and submitted or ground and pounded.

Forever one of my favorites He wasn't always the smartest fighter, sometimes gassing himself out a bit early which led to some losses, he made up for that with heavy hands and great wrestling. I really think prime Rampage might be the strongest man pound for pound to step into an octagon. His slams were so vicious and the amount of power you have to have to lift someone up in the ways he did, is amzing

I still think, he’s one of the reasons UFC isn’t bigger. I remember, the Liddell Vs Jackson was being build as the last of Liddell’s revenge tour. Jackson was the last guy to hold a win over Liddell, that wasn’t avenged. Then he knocked the Iceman out in Rd. 1. The UFC keeps banking everything thing on one fighter, then scramble after they’re beaten. Liddell was their first fighter to have this done to them. The UFC needs to market the sport better than their stars, if they want to go full on mainstream.

Hello,please make a video about Igor Vovchanchyn. Pioneer, 30 win streak,and all round proper monster. He got forgotten and the mainstream public do not recognize him much at all.

I love they scoring system given at the end. I can see Jon Jones score a perfect 10.

Agree completely, rampage in my eyes was the most entertaining fighter to date. His antics inside and outside the ring were something we havent seen again to this date and all while appearing to b a genuinely nice guy. Who else has ever felt bad about winning a fight, thinking the judges got it wrong
