@stygiandragon38652 жыл бұрын
With just raw power too!
@matthewkuscienko46162 жыл бұрын
On the contrary, having a 4x weakness is far from a death sentence to a Pokemon's viability, as there are plenty of examples of Pokemon that have this trait that are still good, if not great in spite of this. Another bug introduced in gen2 in the form of Scizor has also managed a similar feat, and when last I checked, Pokemon like Swampert and Dragonite (among others) have proven to be similarly effective. But in Heracross's case, it's sheer power makes it a dangerous offensive Pokemon in whichever tier it finds itself in, especially since it can spam 2 different 120 base power STAB moves that only have fairly minor drawbacks
@mrtable28612 жыл бұрын
Like Matthew said, 4x weaknesses aren't necessarily a death sentence, especially not one to flying. While flying is an excellent offensive typing for any Mon that has STAB on it (especially if they have fighting/ground coverage), it's one of the least useful coverage types out there. You will almost never see anything halfway strong offensively walled by a fighting or bug type and grass has plenty of other weaknesses that mons can casually deal with. Only time I've seen something run a flying move to bypass a matchup was Crawdaunt potentially running Aerial ace to hit Chestnaught in gen 6 UU. That's it. So the only mons that will try to strike you with a flying type move are flying types themselves. And at that point, well, you just switch.

My favorite bug type. Loved it ever since it helped me beat Whitney's miltank back in Pokemon silver.

I always liked Heracross and I’m glad this remastered episode highlighted it’s history in a more developed sense.

Yes, my favorite Mon to play competitively! I spam the crap out of it in ADV since I began playing the tier. It feels so good to make the right calls, and get two or three kills for it in tournaments! Yeah, it's not the best, but it's my one and true love on this game! Remake entirely deserved.

The original heracross video was the first FSG video I seen, so I'm glad the beetle got the remake treatment!

Heracross is my favourite fighting type it's history is great I love the pokemon thx for making this video to show heracross history and it's glory

Loved the video, it was really cool to see just how good Heracross was back in the early days! Thanks for featuring my team too. Heracross has the stats to do well, but it would help if they swapped the Bug /Fairy interactions. The introduction of the Fairy type made the Bug type arguably the weakest in the game.

Just when I think my opponent is going to wipe the floor with me in random battles, I Dynamax my Heracross and it manages to withstand a Life Orb boosted Max Mindstorm in Psychic Terrain, turning the whole battle around...!! I love this bug and this video only solidified my appreciation. Really great overview as always!

Heracross was the first bug type I kept the whole game when I played crystal as a kid, he didn't need fighting STAB when megahorn hit everything hard
@Oscarthegecko Жыл бұрын
Heracross was probably inspired by an Antlion Kaiju from Ultraman, named Antler. Antlar and Heracross are both giant bugs who can fight ferociously. Antler was one of the few kaiju who survived Ultraman's "Speciam Beam". Competitive Heracross is basically Antlar, an almight bug, who'd be defeated by a small, blue rock.

Skill link is such a cool ability in theory but having to use moves with some of the worst animations out there sure hurts... that damn "hop" with every hit triggers me so much :(

Love the remake! Remakes of older videos are some of my favorites on this channel, and this video is no different. Speaking of remakes, you gotta remake the Porygon videos! Porygon has seen a recent resurgence in viability in RBY and has had lots of little cup play, Porygon2 has been tearing up recent VGC formats and its adventures in lower tiers went mostly uncovered, and Porygon-Z… has been shafted recently, but there’s still a lot more to cover and lots that wasn’t covered. Porygon-Z got a video shorter than 7 minutes, while Porygon2 and Porygon together got a video only 13 minutes long; that’s very short for what is effectively covering 3 different successful competitive careers
