Maybe something to do with your first experience with the Howard the Duck film. Because its in the same realm of the Super Mario Bros. film that it has a cult status that even though its unlike its source material people still love it. So I hope you can talk about that film in the future.

I suggested first time experience the mighty morphing power rangers the movie because one of the best underrated film since the series came out and have one of the most cheesy effects and action scenes in it and the humour is awesome and the villain cool too 🍿

I would love to hear about your opinions on the 80s Hanna-Barbera movies (Superstars 10) like The Jetsons Meet the Flinstones, Rockin' with Judy Jetson, Scooby-Doo and the Ghoul School, and one that I probably still have the VHS recording of somewhere: Yogi Bear and the Magical Flight of the Spruce Goose. I just remember a lot of them being SUPER 80s styled in music and were the main reason I watched a lot of older H-B cartoons in the first place. And if you'd like to follow up with the majorly 90s Yo! Yogi! cartoon and the "educational" Rappin' and Rhymin' special featuring a tiny tot version of Taj Mowry, that'd be cool too~

I saw Gremlins in the theater, my mom wasn't so sure about it because it looked scary, but she let me go see it with a friend anyway. Loved everything about it, loved the old Warner Brothers vibe it had, loved seeing Flo from "Alice" -- and then I still had a nightmare and to this day remember bolting up and saying "THERE'S A GREMLIN ON MY BED!" 😄 The second one I rented on VHS, with Witches of Eastwick I think, and thoroughly enjoyed its meta humor

The amount of fun, enthusiasm and hilarity the crew had was so AWESOME! The fact Bugs, Daffy, and even Hulk Hogan was in the film was FANTASTIC!!! Not to mention, Christopher Lee was also in it too!!!

The first adult like movie I remember watching was Titanic when I was actually pretty young like maybe eight or nine years old. I remember the romance stuff, the iceberg, the sinking, Jack’s death. But I didn’t have any memory of the “Draw me like one of your French girls” scene or the car sex scene. I’m pretty sure my Dad fast forward through those scenes or something so I wouldn’t see them. I didn’t found out about those scenes till I got a little older and my brother and I decided to rewatch it and I was like “Whoa this is new.” I still find it funny that my Dad was against me see those scenes. (Which granted is something you don’t want your small child to see.) But he was ok with me watching a movie that has over a 1,600 people dying on a sinking ship. And among those death is the likable main character, that totally didn’t cause any psychological fear of deep water.

"Likes!" My early experience with Gremlins was similar to your own! I owned the condensed book on record, and later the same book on cassette! But the very first time I viewed Gremlins, on cable TV, I made it right up until Gizmo got wet! Something about that screaming, and those little balls popping off and moving on their own... I had to go up stairs and be done! BUT, the next time that movie came around, I forced myself to watch it, and fell in love! I did actually make it to Gremlins 2 in theaters! That movie was the first time a "film break" entered my mind! As far as movie suggestions, I would love to see you right this "infestation film" wave, and talk about your dealings with Critters, particularly if you saw the most recent Critters Attack film! Also, I "liked" this video!

When I realized that the other mogwi were up to something and were about to be Gremlins, I asked my father if we could leave. He was hesitant, but we left. I was as a kid so scared of gremlins I would hide in the hallway of my grandma's house when the film was on. I would have nightmares about gremlins hiding in the sewers and coming out of the toilet, because what would you do? There would be millions of gremlins in the sewers because its filled with water so you would have an infinite gremlin creation cycle. Gremlins 2 was the movie that helped me get over my fears. I couldn't see the feeding scenes or gizmo getting wet but after the second act starts, and the gremlins are everywhere I enjoyed it a lot.

Loved the video! I remember watching them for the first time when I was 3... they showed both movies on Italian TV every year around Christmas so it kinda became a tradition to watch them. The first few times watching, every time before the Gremlin would jump out of the cabinet in the kitchen in the first movie I would just walk out of the room because, despite knowing what's going to happen, I would still be scared of that scene. Loved to watch them despite being scared of every noise I'd hear when going to bed. Still to this day, both Gremlins movies are among my all-time favorite movies and could watch them on repeat. I'm considering even getting a Gremlins tattoo in a few months. Thank you for this video, really happy it popped up in my recommendations.

I got into it in the early 2000s. My parents had seen it before I was born (dragging my grandfather along for some reason, who came out of it kind of angry with my parents, saying "what the hell was that?" XD), and then told me about it around the time that Furbies were first introduced. Not long after I saw the movie, the Gizmo Furby was released, and I bought it. I started kicking around this idea for a "Gremlins" fan comic that was sort of like "Ghostbusters": a team of kids would travel around chasing a runaway gremlin who would multiply himself everywhere he went, wreaking havoc. The kids had weapons that were basically UV lamps crossed with high-powered camera flashes, bright enough to kill gremlins in one shot. Gizmo was their sidekick, and he wore a pair of sunglasses to protect himself from the light. Then "Boktai" came out, and I realized that everyone would think I ripped it off, so I shelved the idea. XD

My vhs copy of Gremlins 2 had the Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck interaction that transitioned into the film. Loved the film itself. I use to ponder as a kid what would have happened if I drunk those vials in the lab like the Gremlins did; the bat gremlin and spider Mohawk were awesome. And yes.....singing along to New York, New York.

I just watched the Josie and the Pussycats movie for the first time a little over a month ago. LOVED it. Also love how they made fun of all the advertising in movies by putting adverts EVERYWHERE. There was at least one in every scene, even the bathroom XD Even better, they didn't get paid for ANY of them. No ad revenue because they didn't wanna cheapen what they were trying to say. It's a great parody movie.

Had a similar experience with the Mask. The Son of the Mask trailer scarred me as a child with me being terrified of that dog and baby. Years later I decided to conquer my fear by watching the first movie. Then after getting over the cg I ended up loving the first movie! The sequel...not so much. It still unsettled me lol. But love the Mask and the cartoon!

I just bought the 1-2 collection Blu-ray I’m gonna rewatch them for the first time in ages. Love Gremlins! The sequel is far removed from the original that it doesn’t interfere with the terror that the original tries to put out there. Gremlins 2 is a fun silly movie that I can watch anytime.

You lucked out at being an 80s kid. I saw two on vhs. My dad and uncle scared the crap out of me. I was 4. Too young to understand the humor. Then I saw 1 and it messed me up more. Then I went to the wb store at the mall they had Gremlin props in the rafters. Dad made them "real". I forced myself to watch it over and over. Now I love it and stripe is one of my heroes

The way I see it, Gremlins 2 felt like a "Live-Action Animaniacs" three years before the Animaniacs were even heard of.

You can thank Joe Dante, Steven Spielberg and Chris Columbus for making Gremlins. Gremlins and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom were responsible for creating the PG-13 rating.

I remember seeing Robocop and the first couple Terminator movies before I was 10 back in the early 90’s. T2 is still my favorite movie to this day but there were many years I had to look away before the redhead twin coincidentally also from Gremlins 2 got shanked through his eye by the T-1000. Must be his lucky day indeed

Late, but 90s kid here. The movie wasn't what scared me as a kid. Before I even saw the movie, there were commercials for the game or something, and all it was, was Stripe or one of them bursting out a television. That was more than enough to scare young me from ever seeing the movie until I was an adult, somewhat recently. Maybe 2017 or 18. Thankful Nick at Night showed it and I didn't have to pay money to see it. Now I just have to watch the second one sometime.

Nice to know I’m not alone being traumatized by gremlins when i was a kid. For me I watched it at the age of three years old and found it pretty scary and it didn’t help that my dad‘s cousin convinced me they were real. I recall sitting in a Pizza Hut restaurant and he made the blinds move and told me it was a gremlin and I believed him. I recall thinking they’re hiding somewhere and going to get me with their sharp teeth and their catlike eyes just freaked me out. I can totally tolerate them today love watching the movies but if you stare at their face long enough I get the heebie-jeebies lol

Gremlins 2 was pure comedy. The horror element of the first one was completely thrown away. When i was a kid i loved both movies , now I can't rewatch Gremlins 2 that easily.
